UT Rick Barnes

It wouldn't make any sense that I can think of that PK would leave Louisville for Tennessee or anyone for that matter. I guess if enough money was put in his face but that ain't going to happen yet.

If any big name program needs a top head coach, they should go after Rick Pitino. No way he would stay at St. Johns over a bigger program. Regardless of what anyone thinks about him, he gets the job done no matter where he's at. And he does it quick.

If UNC hired him next month, the Tar Heels would probably be in the final 4 in 2027. If IU hired him, the Hoosiers would win the Big 10 within three years.

And Pitino is a fitness freak and has the energy of a 45 year old. He will probably coach at least another five years.

I'm looking forward to next season and beyond. With the departure of the seniors, the young talent remaining on this team can fully take charge. They will need of course some help from the portal to get the program back to being a final 4 threat.

The Cochran, Russell, Harris and Curry era will finally be over. I know Curry is a transfer, but she like the other three has only had flashes of good play in their Cardinals career. They just haven't been reliable.

Coach Walz has to get a mix of transfers and recruits who have above average hoops IQ and a desire to win. Those two attributes have been missing for a few years.

I will be a bit disappointed if there isn't a big turnover on the roster. I would like Randolph, Berry, Roberts and Arenas all to come back and that's about it. Walz needs to land at least four transfers along with some freshmen to complete the roster.

I would think there has to be many players in the portal who would love to play for Louisville. I guess it comes down to NIL money?

I have questioned the PG position for next year and the more I think about it…I think Taj or Berry could fill that role. They don’t necessarily need a ‘true’ PG and as long as they have 2-3 trusted ball handlers then that would work. I really hope to see a portal add - power forward-type who loves to rebound and play defense. Along with another 6’1-6’4” player who can shoot and drive to the rim when needed. I know those are big wants, but we can all dream.

ESPN to continue to televise ACC sports thru 2036

The governing body of schools in the state of North Carolina says you can’t take one school without the other. The current pay for athletes is no where near what people are claiming. Right now the top athletes are getting paid in the $35,000 range. Please don’t anyone say Louisville can’t get in the B1G because of academics because this is not about academics that has already been proven.

When Louisville has their basketball and football program running in the right direction Louisville has one of the top money making athletic departments in the country. I read an article last year that the game plan was to have 64 teams in the final plan. They had Louisville listed as number 58 so Louisville is in. As a matter of fact that list did not include some of the SEC and B1G current members.

This week there were discussions where the Big East was wanting the ACC and the Big East to merge which would be crazy for the ACC to do so. The Big 12 talking heads have said the next team they would like to add would be Louisville. Louisville’s athletic’s in men’s and women’s sports is very successful and attractive. I don’t think Louisville will be on the outside looking in they will be one of the players.
Exactly! just look at the announcement about the ACC and FSU/Clemson ending the lawsuit and resolving the revenue sharing issue. Honestly, I suspect the chances of losing members has just evaporated, and can see where the ACC is positioned perfectly to attract Notre Dame into the conference for football. No prediction here, just recognizing that since the ACC conceded that schools that are more successful in football audience (which I suspect will include basketball) are indeed entitled to revenue commensurate with the size of audience.
