What does being upset have to do with anything? Fact is fact. I coached high school football btw.Your post is a good example. As a coach of youth sports, I tell my players there are two outcomes, those that you have control over and those that you don't. We don't have control over what the referees or umpires do but we do have control over execution. Both can have the same results or effect. Getting upset over the one you can't control is wasted energy. Understanding what the issue was about the 2nd is about coaching, correcting mistakes and getting better.
There was no way for Brohm to know that UofL job was about to be open. Brohm would’ve filled holes via portal. You guys would take him back in a hot second.Uhhhh, Purdue has gone to shit for 2 reasons, 1) Brohm did us no favors and quit recruiting the last 1 1/2-2 years cause he knew he would bolt for ul (Purdue was only avg with him) 2) hired a rookie coach whose is in over his head currently.
You can simplify by not constantly rotating in new personnel. Pre-snap motion is just noise to confuse a defense that is late getting calls and/or personnel in.Unfortunately you can’t simplify things when teams are doing all the pre snap motion. What puzzles me is how you can all of sudden shut receivers down in the 4th quarter but couldn’t for the first three? I don’t get it?
You can't point fingers everywhere without looking in the mirror. Now its commendable to say "I take full responsibility, which is as the Head Coach is stating Mr. Obvious, its what you do to correct the issues that speaks the loudest....I like JB as our coach but how can he not see who the hot player is throughout a game? When we got down in SMU territory 3 times in the last quarter he hardly ran Issac Brown, if he did at all? When something is working why would you ever go away from it? The excuse is “Well, they gave us a certain look that led to the plays we called” crap. Brown only rushed 10 x for 117 yards. That’s criminal imo. Some of his play calls in crucial moments along with selected personal is mind boggling.
Now the Offensive line. If the coach isn’t going to teach them how to pass block then Brohm needs to replace the coach.
Now the Defensive secondary. If the coach isn't going to teach them how to cover then Brohm needs to replace the coach.
Now the defense as a whole. If the Defensive Coordinator can’t have them ready and set for plays, and they give up that kind of yardage to SMU then Brohm needs to replace the defensive coordinator.
If you want to make it to the playoffs you can’t keep carrying your friends along.

Absolutely horrendous call by the referee (who by the way) are never held accountable for the damage they do to a game. And before anyone starts crying, these officials are supposed to be professionals at their job and understand the game completely. It would have been 3rd down and 11 at the Louisville 44. And before you say that SMU would have gotten the 1st down (because frustration makes for ill advised comments) it may have ended up in a punt or long field goal attempt instead of a touchdown.
The 3rd down play for Louisville that led to a Travelstead field goal, SMU had 6 blitzing to Louisville’s 5 O-Linemen. Shough was hurried on the throw but had a TE open sitting down in the middle where the LB’s had vacated and had a wide open touchdown down the right sideline but tried to force it into ABH on the out pattern.
I continue to post as I continue to rewatch the game.
