LOUISVILLE VS CLEMSON GAME THREAD

I have a question for you guys. Was our O-line really as banged up as the announcers kept saying? That is all they kept saying the whole game. Plus I like how they tried to say they illegally chop blocked that Clemson DT , but then the official guy on commentary said that what they did was perfectly legal and within the rules.
OL was definitely limited depth wise due to injuries.

Who foresees a Indiana vs Louisville bowl matchup?

IU hasn’t played anybody. Sad that conference is that weak. If they make the playoffs it will be a joke.
Big 10 is not weak. OSU, Oregon, Penn State, and Illinois are ranked. Elite programs USC, Michigan and Washington are the average teams this season. There's only two really bad teams in Purdue and Northwestern.

Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Maryland are all probably going to a bowl game.

IU just happened to play big time schools who are having a down year.

LOUISVILLE VS CLEMSON GAME THREAD

I haven't watched enough Clemson games to know if Dabo truly understands parts of coaching. Clearly he doesn't understand the value in the portal, and now there's legit questions as to if he understands math and clock management.

Good. F 'em.
What got me were the announcers, who kept lamenting that Clemson was just “off”, and that this was a bad game for Klubnick. Zero credit to the team they faced.
As regards Dabo, he didn’t go for two when it would have meant they needed a TD (plus another 2 pt conversion) and an FG to tie. But if he doesn’t get it, he needs 2 TD. However, given the two blocked FG attempts, he may have decided it was actually a higher percentage play to get two TD. Who knows? But Brown’s TD made it all academic.

A night game in Death Valley and the Cards are +10.5.

Clemson was as over confident as Cards fans were picking them to win. They clearly were not mentally prepared for Louisville. Players and coaches.

The Cards were so much more focused and determined and there just wasn't any place for the officials to screw the Cards in this game.

I had the inclination that Louisville would win this game but like everyone else, was concerned about the usual bad luck and bad officiating. However, I picked the Cards to win and it pretty much went like I thought it would. I even felt we would leave TD's on the field for FG's.

We should have put 45 on these dudes.

Will the Cards be ranked?

Yes, because the RPI cannot be ignored, and both SMU and Miami will move up along with ND.

I believe Vanderbilt and UL are both under-rated, and deserve consideration given the quality of the quality of competition.

Not to take anything away from what appears to be a very good and undefeated IU football team, in contrast to UL, the Hoosiers have not played a single top 25 team yet, UL has played 3 teams rated at one time or another 3 in the top 10.
Vanderbilt is a perfect example of disrespect because of who they have been. I couldn't believe they were 7.5 underdogs at a very bad but traditional Auburn team.

IU's schedule has got to be the worst of major conference teams. They have just one chance to prove their worthy of any major bowl game and that is OSU.

As for Louisville, the Cards still have a game remaining against a ranked team in Pittsburgh. Everyone who has watched Louisville this season and saw those three losses, know just how close they could be undefeated.

FOOTBALL MY THOUGHTS ON LOUISVILLE'S WIN OVER CLEMSON

I had my sister's wedding last weekend, and my best friend got married this weekend, so I was spotty with commentary, but MAN, what a win. And yes, if you saw my tweet, I was with Dan Furman last night, and yes, they are working on Isaac Brown's NIL package already.

Not once all season have I pressed the panic button. Have I been frustrated at times? Certainly. But not once have I pressed the panic button and thought and or called for sweeping changes. I never jumped on the train piling on the recruiting philosophy. Haven't flinched on Jeff being the guy here.

And last night was why. That's why you hire Jeff Brohm. And that's why you trust him to run the program the way he sees fit. If Jeff thinks the best shot to win is going portal heavy, lovely. If Jeff thinks he needs to go back to the high school route, lovely. I trust him to make the correct decision.

Some shout outs:

- Tyler Shough flipping into the end zone set the tone for the game, and Louisville doesn't win if they don't get six there.

- Isaac Brown is just different. He's special. If there's a hole, he's hitting it, and he's gone.

- Chris Bell was great after the catch. Well done.

- Renato Brown hasn't played all year, and he stepped in and mauled people all night. See below:

- Defensively, the secondary was unbelievable. D'Angelo Hutchinson was all over the field.

- Tayon Holloway has been nothing short of excellent the last few weeks.

- MJ Griffin was spectacular playing in the box and at the line of scrimmage.

- Jordan Guerad has been a difference maker in the middle. Konga came back this game as well.

- Special teams came through. Brock shook off the early misses. Two blocked field goals. While not pretty, onside kicks recovered.

What a FUN night. Win out and it's a great season. Full stop.

Now, they have to go out and do it.

Who foresees a Indiana vs Louisville bowl matchup?

If I was an IU fan at this point, I'd be pretty disappointed with that matchup...
Of course you would. No one here is surprised at that opinion.

Thing is, IU's schedule has got to be the weakest in Big 10 history. No Oregon, Penn state or Illinois or Iowa or Minnesota or even Wisconsin. They play Michigan who looks like will end up 6 and 6. The only team they play with a pulse is OSU.

As for the Rose Bowl, there's no Pac 10 so who would play the big 10 representive? IU's schedule may as well be a group of five teams schedule. If they get beat handily against OSU, I don't see them in the Rose Bowl but I could be wrong.

Taking out the FCS team, IU's opponents are 31 wins and 39 losses. They still play a 5 and 4 Michigan and 1 and 7 Purdue. And OSU, the only team currently bowl eligible on IU's schedule.

Even if they finish 11 and 1, they will be behind Oregon, OSU and Penn State. Seems to me a possible matchup with a 9 and 3 Louisville team would be their 2nd toughest game all year.
