Louisville vs UConn

CJW is a victim to much of the change in culture that affects Women Sports the same way it is affecting Men’s College Sports; which explains why men like Jay Wright, and Tony Bennett retired.

Verhulst did not deserve any more minutes during her brief time at UL than she received. I do not profess to know firsthand why Verhulst left so early, but given Jeff’s success managing so many talented players effectively over so many successful seasons, I am reluctant to place the blame on him. In truth, there are factors involved with kids today that are not predictable, nor are they going to make sense to those of us watching. HVL’s departure is an example of a coach and school doing everything possible to advance and accommodate a player’s future, but she and her father decided it was not enough.

Lastly, Cochran and Harris are loyal to CJW and UL; whatever struggle they are experiencing on the court should not result in fans attacking them. I will support Jeff and these kids win or lose this year, and hope they can gain from the high level of competition over the course of this season. I saw the team was going to struggle early on, primarily based on so many true freshman acclimating to College basketball.

Louisville vs Northern Iowa

Most exciting match I have ever witnessed in WVB. Some may question why it was so close, one that it easily could have resulted in the end of a chance to host a NC, but to witness the manner in which UL’s women refused to lose might qualify as a miracle win. There were multiple MATCH POINTS for UNI, where several UL players simply came up strong.

A long 2024 Postmortem

This is a good thread. Everyone knows their stuff on here. A couple of thoughts:
agree 100% about needing NFL talent, especially on defense. Not sure how many NFL caliber guys will be in portal. Need to develop some younger dudes. We definitely blew the Stanford game. We did start the ND game with a fumble recovery on the opening kickoff, so that could be viewed as luck on our side. The UVA and BC games both came down to the wire. Ultimately, I think we probably were a 9-3 team with an 8-4 record. We only had 6 home games and next year that goes to 8. I’m excited for the future. Having the Clemson and UK albatrosses off our neck is part of the upward trajectory process.

Louisville vs UConn

Walz says he's pissed and he should be at himself. He's wasting his time with Harris and Cochran. Both could have four more years of eligibility and both would still hardly improve.

Now I appreciate their loyalty, especially in this day and age, but I believe it's mostly due because Walz didn't bring others in who are better. The two other front court players that back up the starters are clearly not ACC worthy.

Cochran and Harris knew they would still receive most of the minutes so they stayed, and we're seeing how that is working out.

I hate Clemson football.

I mean ask any Louisville fan would they have thought there was anyway possible the Cards would do what Clemson did to win the ACC championship?

With 18 seconds remaining I can hear me now, "Hey everyone, don't fret, all we need to do is return the kick to the 45 yard line, then run one pass play for 20 more yards, call a timeout with 2 seconds and then make a 56 yard FG."

Easy peasy.

Yeah right. Only programs like Clemson have that kind of good luck. I would probably grab my chest if Louisville ever did something like that.

Attn Early Results of this weeks PIC UM Challenge....Bragging Right go to....

3 picr's tied at 7 of 9.
koeterback12 (no TB score given); sccard - TB of 24-21 = 45; and cardrock - TB of 31-24=55. Final score 34-31=65. Sorry sccard, cardrock wins by TB score.

You (sccard) certainly did good this week though. Kudos to you and Brag, Brag away cardrock!

That Game was a tale of two games....crazy, crazy ending. Best game of the day IMO.

Damn what a day of CFB. And SMU better be in over Bama CFP committee as they deserve it... . How about that ASU team blowing out ISU? UGA was lucky to beat TX again too. What a day of CFB!!!

I hate Clemson football.

I agree with all of that. But when a team kicks a 56 yard FG after along KO runback and a good pass play to get into position to kick the long azz FG...they found a way to win and did it. Hats off to them.

Why did SMU do that KO that way? Should have squibbed it or something unreturnable.
Big Tactical mistake and it cost them the game. I was thinking that SMU should have gone for 2 too.

They definitely should be in the playoff though. ACC deserves at least 2. And poor poor Miami left out in the cold. Oh well.

Come tomorrow Louisville will have played 3 teams in the college football playoff…

As said above, they will also have played a team in the first 4 out (Miami). The point differential in these games was -9…. Hardest schedule in the country based off of final rankings it seems. If it weren’t for that Stanford loss, it would’ve altered the whole outlook on the season. We were SO close to being in the 12 team playoff. We didn’t execute up to our potential. We were better than both of the teams that played tonight. Sucks knowing that, just have to continue to build and keep moving forward. #MillerMossTime.

I hate Clemson football.

I cannot believe the kind of good fortune that program has. They in no way should be ranked 17 and in no way should they be the ACC champion.

For some reason, the football gods love them and everything always seems to work in their favor. They had a lame ACC schedule with their one loss being to the best team on their conference schedule.

Then they get into the title game when Miami is upset by Syracuse. And then this lucky ass win tonight.

Those announcers were so convinced that SMU did the right thing not going for two and play for overtime, they were saying SMU has the momentum and Clemson doesn't. I was talking at the TV saying bullshit! They should have went for the two point conversion because Clemson was on its heels.

Plus I remember the Clemson luck from that Louisville game when it took two lucky breaks at the end with a long kick off return down two scores then the James Quick mistake not getting the 1st down.

I'm sick of seeing Dabo and his BS being lauded as some great team. I will be pulling for any team they play in the playoff.

Louisville vs UConn

Well our 9 freshmen did pretty good when they put their bench players in. If you take this team and put Peyton Verhulst and HVL back on this team you have a totally different team. HVL left and went to LSU to be a failed point guard. Now she is at TCU and is a shooting guard like she was at Louisville and her numbers are back up.

Verhulst left because she was a 5 star recruit who sat on the bench. Now she is at Oklahoma knocking down 3 pointers and is a rising star. I hope the coaches have learned from the Verhulst mistake. In regarding to tonight’s game it says a lot about us but what does it say about the other top 20 teams we played and they were close games. How good are those teams really are?
