WBB v NC St

Individual players make up a team and it's up to the individual players to have unity and chemistry to go along with effort and ability. These players are not doing the job and for whatever reason, Walz cannot seem to figure out why.

Talented basketball players are required to win at this level and three of the Cards most experienced players are simply limited talent wise.

Cochran is a warrior who wants to win, but she is not effective enough down low because she's just not athletic enough and her outside shot is not consistent.

Harris has no post moves to speak of and is a bad outside shooter. She's a junior and should be by now the talented player she was forecasted to be as a highly recruited prep star. It's just not happening.

Russell is one dimensional which is fine as she's been a bench player her entire time here. She can make 3 pointers, but other than that, she doesn't add much.

Now I'm not disparaging these players to be mean or anything like that. They are Cardinals and I pull for them everytime they take the court. Players have limitations and these three veterans have too many to hold together a team where everyone else is a freshman.

Except Curry who may still not be 100 percent. She can shoot but her PG skills may not be good enough to start?

Walz needed his top rookies to be immediate impact players but Randolph, Arenas, Roberts and Berry all have been inconsistent, which is normal for most freshmen. Then there's the two front court players who can't see the court over the two foreign born players who do despite neither doing much of anything.

Walz definitely has his work cut out for him with this team.

FB RECRUITING: USC QB Miller Moss Commits To Cards

Imagine if we had said Lamar is only 6-2?? I know we had a different coach but you're implying that Brohm would never have considered him solely because of his size.
Only because most people here say Brohm prefers tall QB's. I don't know for sure. I think he needs a dual threat QB to fully enhance the offense, but many here say Brohm prefers pocket passers.

The truth is he prefers outstanding QB's.

Khani Apologizes For Middle Finger To Uk Fans

Doesn't matter. Has to show more restraint otherwise it only provides excuses when they result in their punk attitudes and actions. Lets see Rooths played 13 minutes, 0 points, 1 reb, 1 assist. I would say the kitties were successful. Do your payback on the court, not off. He's a FR and hopefully now knows what it means to play in this rivalry. Unless you really know the history, there should be nothing that should surprise you but it still does.
I assume his minutes were cut when CPK saw him do that.

There’s no telling what the Kentucky fans were saying to him.

WVB Tournament observations

I suspect that Koz was referring to the same announcer that I was referring to, and it was not Jennifer. I don’t know the name of the announcer that I heard, but she is an attractive African American woman, but definitely not Hoffman.

With that said, even a UL alumni could be excused for following “the ESPN narrative”, as each of these employees have careers that depend on adherence to what their employer expects.
Well he did say "pregame" show and not announcer so there's that. So I guess you imply that Luke Hancock follows a directive to be negative against U of L. Who's out to get you and do you check your closets when you get home?

FB RECRUITING: USC QB Miller Moss Commits To Cards

There must be something about Moss for Brohm to seek him the most. It may NIL or an early commitment he was looking for? He didn't want to wait out other QB's and then get stuck with someone he really didn't pursue that hard?

Moss is only 6'2 and other than his Tom Brady performance against Louisville, I haven't seen any other performance that really matches that. I think maybe Brohm feels there isn't many options this year with QB's in the portal. Moss may be very coachable?

But he's the man so I will get behind him and hope that Tom Brady comes out of him next season, but this time in a Cardinals uniform.

Uk Dirty Play

When seeing players like that I can't help but think of the word KARMA....what goes around comes around. He will get his.

OT: I was impressed with Pope's coaching in that game. Also, his very fast reaction to head off over reaction and ugliness was thwarted by his quick intervention IMO.

This may not be a popular stance here...but I was impressed on how he has reconstructed the Cats roster and his team definitely has some potential to make waves this year in the SEC and NCAA-T. We shall see.

There will be constant comparisons between him and CPK for years to come from here on out methinks for obvious reasons.

Jamari Johnson WTF…

The system forces kids into seeing their value. On top of that their athletic window is small. 95 percent won’t go pro. Really the smartest thing to do is hit the portal every year. Now the trick is you have to produced but if you are productive hit the portal. No different than jobs it doesn’t pay to be loyal. You never maximize your value.

Kevin Coleman has played it about as good as you could. Jackson St-Louisville-Miss St-new place. He has increased his value each time. Hailey Van Lith played it pretty well too.

To your point going to Texas may not be the right move because his production may decrease. Which hurts him in the next cycle. Louisville actually could add value because he would be more productive therefore more leverage in the next cycle. It still is $$$ game.
How do we know what these guys are getting paid? I suspect it is less than we think. Also, there’s more to a job than just money. What if these guys have an inkling they may not make the league and actually like the place they’re at for, dare I say it, academic reasons? Let’s say they like their professors, like their majors, like the continuity, like their coaches, the community, etc? Is it always that kids are total mercenaries? How much more can they actually pull? There has to be more to these decisions than “a few dollars more”.

Judging one player’s performance, in this case either Harris or Cochran, should be considered with respect to the performance of the rest of the players. Walz’s post game comments came as close to an explanation as we may ever get, as he stated that his pregame strategy was to take the half-court offense inside; yet the first 5 or 6 shots were 3s, albeit they were open looks; that was not what the game plan. Interestingly, Harris had 3 offensive rebounds in those early possessions, resulting in additional opportunities to get back into the half court offense.

Blaming individual upperclassman or incoming freshman or portal transfer player performances is overlooking the fact that it’s a team sport, and there is little if any evidence of chemistry or collective unity within this roster.

Jeff didn’t forget how to recruit or coach, but these changes in College Sports are effecting Women Basketball as much as Men’s. Jeff is frustrated more than we are, and I am confident he alone will have to figure this train-wreck out.
