Is it just me or is the -3 spread agains Syracuse a slap in the face.

Spread means very little except good bulletin board fodder for the Cards. Let Cuse bite the bullet on this.

At home at night is a boost for the 'Cuse so I expect a fast start for the Orange(men). Cards trail early 14 to 3 and go into halftime down 20 to 10.

The 2nd half, especially the 3rd quarter, is when the Cards bust out with multiple touchdowns and take the lead into the 4th quarter.

Syracuse shows some grit in the 4th quarter and only lose by four 31 to 27.

Cards end up with over 500 yards of offense but yet still leave points on the field with missed 4th down plays and turnovers. Cards have two 100 yard rushers in the game.

Defense at times shows the potential improvement but there's still some broken coverages and missed tackles leading to points, mostly in the first half.

Cards win a hard earned victory on the road to start the season. They have the look of a top 25 team but do they have the resolve?

First game

Lot of question marks for us.

Satt has all summer to prepare for Cuse and they know pretty much nothing about what we’ll field. Other than MC. And he may be enough by himself. ;)

Give the points IMO.
First game of the year on the road at night in the Dome. I wouldn’t touch that line with a ten foot pole.
I should add that “give the points” is easy for me to say as I never bet UofL games.

Too many ways to “lose”, and be PO’d to some degree, with only one way to “win-win”. Win AND cover.

I don’t bet on my own teams. Just found it interesting.

Respectfully Rollem, we are returning as much or more production than any team in the Country and we toasted Cuse the last 3 years. I don’t understand a -3 spread, but we have been wildly inconsistent. If I were a sports gambler, I’d be all over the cards in this one.

My biggest thing was we smoke showed them last year. They lost their best WR to the portal, their QB can’t throw, they have a stud RB though. With that being said I checked the portal and their last two classes and wasn’t impressed meanwhile we brought in Lole to fill our biggest need who was projected as a 3-4 round pick without even playing last season, Tiyon evans who averaged 6.5 YPC in the $EC, lastly our secondary should be MUCH improved with the guys we brought in including getting Montgomery and Clark healthy.

I am so glad we didn’t go for Dino Babers. People calling for him after Bobby made me laugh. Guy had one good season and has made pretty good bank off of it lol.

I agree Push. The line is more about the Cards than it is Syracuse. By game week I believe it will be closer to -7.

WTH?

I said give the points if you just have to bet. (That means we win just to be clear) ;)

I look for the Cardinals to improve a great deal this year over last - but he needs to prove it and I get the -3 spread. Satterfield seems to be heavily motivated by the Brohm talk - it took a few years but maybe he's realizing that a P5 gig is a 24/7/365 job. Recruiting has improved so much - on paper - with verbals - that it is almost inexplicable. IMO, the Cards really should go 8-4 this year. So much returning productivity, a very experienced senior QB, playing in the worst P5 league - if they don't go 8-4 this year (year 4), it will probably never happen with Satterfield.

I was with until you said the worst P5 league.

The PAC? and B12? and even the B1G are on par or not any better than the ACC the last 5 years or more.

CU has proven that when they make it to the FB-FF. The ACC competition prepared them well enough to win NC's and advance there, etc.

What have OK, OSU and no PAC team done to top that? It has been the SEC and ACC champs taking home the trophies in recent times.

From top to bottom the ACC is as competitive and balanced as all but the SEC sad to say. You may not agree but CU's representing the ACC has been stellar.

Face it in the SEC it's Bama/UGA. In the BIG its OSU and everybody else, B12 its OK and everybody else. And the Pac? has not made it to the FF for so long I don't even know who to tout as their best anymore.

In the ACC it has been CU and everybody else....so not much if any difference to me based on performance in the CFBFP-FF. What say you now?
