Sutton- Wow

He plays with true grit. Tough as nails for sure. That late 3 pointer he banked in was a terrible shot though and I promise you he heard about it from coach Mack. Needs to play a little bit smarter than that, but his effort is undeniable. Hope he doesn't have too bad a case of whiplash today. I held my breath until he got up. Thought he was hurt for a few and that would have sucked.

This is going back in the day but Sutton reminds me of one of my favorite Cardinals, Wesley Cox. They are about the same build 6-5, 220 lbs. Wes could score, rebound and pass the ball. Last I heard he wasn’t doing well. Go Cards!
His game reminds me more of Bobby Turner. The desire and toughness is what stands out IMO.

Bobby seemed more of a 2 guard than a small power forward and didn’t have the propensity to rebound like Sutton and Wes, but good comparison based on toughness and desire. Now at Male at 6-4, he was definitely more of a forward.

He reminds me of Bobby Turner as well. I remember Wesley Cox had to play center one year because Bill Bunton was ruled ineligible one year. In high school Cox was a star but everyone thought he had too much attitude. I remember when Male came to play Trinity and Cox walked off the court during the 1st half.
Everybody booed him because they thought he was a bad sport. Little did everyone know Cox had asthma real bad and it was kept a secret. They didn't want to hurt his chances advancing his basketball opportunities. Wesley Cox was a real talent I hate hearing he's not doing well.

If he didn't have asthma he would have been even better than he already was. All in all....a great homegrown Louisville Male HS player.

Sutton is a beast. He plays the game the right way, he plays as hard as anyone on the court every possession! He’s a winner and he’ll end up playing professional basketball somewhere. I absolutely love kids who give 110%!! Sutton gives everything for the team and doesn’t worry about individual stats, he’s the kind of player that every team has to have to have a chance to win. I’ll tell you, back when we played, I could see the kid was tough as nails and was one of those gritty players, but I honestly didn’t think he was as good as he’s proven to be. I love his effort, and effort travels anywhere, so he’ll just continue to get better and better. Thanks

Love this guy's versatile, blue collar game.

17 pts. ,9 rebs, 4 assists.
Got to hand it to my eldest grandson for "discovering" Dwayne when he saw a game involving UNC-Asheville. He's said for the last two years that neither CRP or CDP either didn't appreciate his talent and under utilized him.

When Bobby Turner played most centers were 6'8" today they're 6'11" or even taller. Turner was 6'4" tall and played forward but remember when we had Bill Butler at forward who was 6'2"? Bobby Turner like Sutton played hard non stop to me the only difference was Turner played with scowl expression on his face all the time.

Eric Johnson was another 6'2" PF.
