What part of I agree with you did you miss. I was just stating facts. I want our athletes to succeed in whatever they want if that means going on to professional sports. But I do not like one and dones nor do I want that philosophy used here. But I want a coach that wins and prepares them for the next level, but with a degree in hand. Don’t you think that’s what Rick was doing or Jeff Walz?
I think the number one goal is winning a NC (because that’s what they are paid to do) and secondly, develop young men into the best person they can be, whether it’s as a teacher, coach, professional ballplayer or whatever. Actually make a positive impact on their life in whatever profession they choose. The #1 goal should not be to get guys to the next level. I think CRP is probably more proud of how many guys have gone into the coaching ranks. You are born with talent to play a game; you have to learn how to become a good coach.
