I don't think anyone outside knows for sure. But IU has a huge donor base and Arky has big Tyson chicken money. Lol
Arkansas has billionaire's galore:
1. Jim Walton - Walmart - 95 billion
2. Rob Walton - Walmert - 94 billion
3. Alice Walton - Walmart - 84 billion
(but I think she bought the Denver Bronco's (one of these Waltons did), so she may not be interested in funding University of Arkansas stuff - who knows - but Arkansas wouldn't miss 'em they have so many)
4. Lukas Walton - Walmart - 33 billion
5. Christy Walton - Walmart - 16 billion
6. Jerry Jones - Dallas Cowboys - 15 billion
7. Ann Walton Kroenke - Walmart - 11 billion
8. Johnelle Hunt - J B Hunt - 4.5 billion
9. Warren Stephens - investment banking - 3 billion
10. John Tyson - Tyson Chicken - 2.6 billion
11. Barbara Tyson - Tyson Chicken - 2.1 billion
12. R. Madison Murphy - Murphy Oil - 1.2 billion
It is freakin' impressive that a state it's size has produced so many billionaires.
By contrast Kentucky may have 4 or 5.
-- The Brown family of Brown Forman may be in the billionaire club.
-- The father daughter combo of Public Storage, B Wayne Hughes, and Tamara Hughes Gustavson are definitely in the billionaire club.
-- I don't know if Junior Bridgeman is in that club either, but I know he was pretty close not too long ago.
But that's about it.
It'd be awesome to have a couple of the low-end Arkansas peeps in our corner. We'd be damn near unstoppable.
