Per his Instagram account, former Trinity grad and UofL commit, then Ohio State signee, Rodjay Burns has decided to transfer to Louisville due to his father's health. Nice.

I wouldn't use the word "nice" in this circumstance, but it's good to have him. Welcome home RB!Per his Instagram account, former Trinity grad and UofL commit, then Ohio State signee, Rodjay Burns has decided to transfer to Louisville due to his father's health. Nice.
Same here. Hope his Dad recovers to full health. I lost my Dad in 2016 and I think about him every day.Very good pickup and return...good to see Burns back home but hate the circumstances with his father...
Will he get a hardship and be eligible immediately?
No. They've already said he'll sit out a year. Must've been highly under rated in HS. Was a composite 3 star, but saw good game time as a Freshman at OSU. Very few true freshmen get good playing time at OSU.
I believe he was underrated. As a sophomore, he was James Quick's replacement at wide receiver. He was also the starting safety on defense and continued as a twoway starter for the next 3 years. I believe he is 6' 2" and has good speed. He played in 6 games (all but one were mop-up minutes in huge blowouts), and had 1 tackle. Now, he DID score a TD on a 75 yard pick six in a 77-10 blowout of Bowling Green. Although he did get in 6 games playing for talent laden OSU, I'm not quite sure I would categorize his OSU career as getting good playing time. But I suppose a glass half full perspective could make that case. I have high hopes he can contribute for UofL after sitting out a year.
