Curious to see what everybody thinks now that the regular season is over.

I think most would be pleased to appear to be a lock for the NCAAs.

The team teased early in ACC play, hinting at a potential great year, but I think the front end schedule was much easier than the middle and late part of the schedule.

I was wrong, didn't see an NCAA bid so I'm pleased with the year. I honestly don't know how Mack pulled it off. He's trotting out some under-sized guards with a lot of limitations but yet here we are looking to get the name called. It's been a few years not taking it lightly!

I think they rely on the 3 and just have no depth, so I can't see a run in the NCAAs for this bunch, but they did alright to get to this point. And I've already been wrong about them so who knows?

Thoughts?

Some stikes and gutters, just looking forward to this post-season. We’ve proven that when we come to play a full 40, we can beat anyone, i.e. Michigan State, UNC at Dean Dome, VTech on the road and Nc State.

Wasn’t upset about the loss today either, we played hard and gritty, that’s all I ask. Today was a tall order in general, we made some careless turnovers the last 4 minutes, but I like where this team is headed. Mack is a leader, and I’m impressed.

It was a tale of three seasons for me.

Preseason - Was hoping to make the NCAA tourney but had serious doubts.

During the season and before February - Was thrilled and dreaming of a 2 seed or maybe even a 1 seed in the NCAA tourney and a double bye in the ACC tourney.

After February - Reality set in and now I understand the team has overachieved all season long, and I am very proud of this bunch. The kids play hard and give all out effort ALL the time. I couldn't be happier with the effort.

Go CARDS!!!

Good season, the players played hard and were well coached that is all you can ask for as a fan.

If they win the first game in the NCAA tournament they are a nightmare matchup for a 2 seed and even a 1. They get hot from 3 early the game pressure on the higher seed is completely different than in the regular season. Have to see the matchup before making any predictions.

Next year who knows.

Good post. My thoughts are similar to yours, but I can see a possible run in the tournament. Given a 1st round win (which is uncertain), we will be hard to prepare for in a 2nd round game due to the short turn around. Sweet Sixteen will be a real danger due the better opponent and more time for them to prepare. Should we get past that, who knows? But I'll take it. My call is Sweet Sixteen. Anything past that is playing with house money.

This team is like your child highs and lows anger and sadness. However i kept it under wraps as far as expecting high expectations due to the obvious talent limitations . Could not have asked for much more from this coach with the tools he had. They played to the best of their abilities. .

In the end we got what we expected.19-12 with this schedule was good , but was close to being so much more. I agree this team may fare better against some non ACC opponents.

It's been a good season to me because before it started I thought making the NCAAT would equal a good result.

I was disappointed with the way they lost some of the games but I was equally and pleasantly surprised with how they won some of the others. I think Mack has shown good promise in his first season here and the fact that he was able to raise some fans' expectations so high is a good sign. Not saying he doesn't have to improve in some areas but he is a relatively young coach.

If the Cards can win one game in the NCAAT then anything after that is definitely playing with house money in my eyes. If the team were to get to a Sweet 16 then that equals a great season for this squad.

Regular season is over. This team playing 40 minutes has the potential to beat anyone.

It is tournament, which is the best thing about College Basketball. You don't have to play everyone, just the team in your bracket.

The players need to be focus on the team in front of them. Not the team next door or the team behind them. Like riding on a bus with no side or rear view windows. Pass the guy in front of you on Wednesday night, then North Carolina Thursday night.

GO CARDS!

A good season. A team that was fun to watch and frustrating to watch all within the same game (sometimes the same possession). I will always look back and wonder what if they were able to pull off the win against Duke. Team has never really been the same since the Duke game. A real back breaker... They have recovered somewhat and I agree... if they can win their first game in the NCAA tournament, a match-up against a 1 or 2 seed in the second round could be really interesting on short notice.

Looking forward to how this team does in both the ACC and NCAA tournament.

Next Season: If Mack is able to keep Nwora and Enoch, next year should be fun. I do expect a few more lumps next year as well though with the young talent coming in... you just never know how that is going to look. Things take time... chemistry... new system and level of play, etc... Enjoying the process.

The highs: beating Sparty, UNC @ UNC.
The lows: blowing leads, the collapses, losing streaks.
The sames: beating va Tech, losing to UK.

The season started with some promise. It was a feel good story. Then February, which we all knew would be challenging, brought pain. The season was a roller coaster.

I thought Chris Mack did a great job in taking a roster that was one of the weakest in the ACC and adding Cunningham and Fore to make us competitive. Disappointed in the lack of development by VJ King and Darius Perry - that’s what kept this team from contending for an ACC title. The injuries to Agau really hurt team depth as well. Still, Chris did a great job of molding the rest of the team into a solid 7 player unit and then using smoke and mirrors to keep those 7 as fresh as possible throughout a difficult 31 game schedule.

I had them at 18 wins and another trip to the NIT. so, they exceeded my expectations. In January, whe conference play began, everyone knew February was going to be brutal, and it was. Mack went fron COY to an also ran. The team went from a 4 seed to probably a 7-9 seed, depending on whether we get reamed again by the selection committee. A win in the conference tourney and a win in the NCAA will get this team to 21 wins, which I consider very successful. Next year, this gets much more interesting.

Overachieved this season and Mack should be ACC COY. We have one player we could see much PT on any of the Top 10 teams.

Pretty much my thoughts. I hope some of the stuff I saw this year repeats, and I hope some doesn't...
