Louisville and FSU have been battling on the recruiting trail since Mike Norvell took over in Tallahassee and today a quarterback by the name of Luke Altmyer just committed to the Seminoles. There are only but so many quarterbacks and spots to go around so usually when a team gets their guy they're removed from the marketplace and a prospect looses an option. Another quarterback the Cards and Noles were targeting was Colton Gauthier a four star from Georgia. With Altmyer's commitment this drops FSU out of the race for Gauthier most likely.

Gauthier visited Louisville for the Red Carpet Satterday event and then attended FSU's junior day the following weekend. Another key fact to remember is that his mother is an FSU grad so there was a lot of speculation that he would commit there but not so much anymore. Last weekend he visited Ole Miss and reports said the visit went well and he vows to return. Right now I would say the top schools in the mix for the four-star from Dacula are in no order, Louisville, Ole Miss, Missouri, and South Carolina.

I'm working on doing some position by position Hot Boards that show all the players Louisville has offered who are still available. I'll have the QB board up later today.
