NCAA uphold all penalties

Well, we can fight and say ugly things to and about each other or we can mam up and move forward to the rebuilding our future program. A wise person learns from pass failures and builds a better future. In my eyes, I see no other option.
There really is no other option. Still, it's easy to see this outcome was an agreement made behind closed doors to save UofL millions of dollars. If the monetary amount owed back is only 600K in spite of 123 vacated wins and 2 banners (1 ff banner, and 1 nc banner), instead of 15 million like it was being reported, then it means UofL worked with the NCAA to make this conclusion so Pitino couldn't win his lawsuit for almost 39 million AND he is being counter sued for any money associated with vacated wins. This was a business deal.

Gotta love the transparency huh? Procedure wasn't followed they will pay RP. I'd rather pay 15$ million and retain records. This was nothing more than uk putting its foot on UofL's throat over our success. Many on here 'we deserved it lets move on' are the type of fans/people I despise, incapable of critical thought. No way the "time fits the crime".

Thiis little tidbit is why this went THIS way. I am convinced the NCAA and UofL worked together to come up with this result in order to save themselves millions of dollars owed to Pitino.

Pitino also sued the University of Louisville Athletics Association for breach of contract in federal court on Nov. 30. His lawyers claimed the school wrongfully suspended and then fired him and argued that he is owed $38.7 million for the remainder of his contract through 2026.

The University filed a countersuit against Pitino on Dec. 13 for "wrongful conduct" and argued that he is financially responsible for damages caused by the recent scandals. The federal complaint requests that Pitino repay monetary losses that might arise from vacated games and bonuses.

Anyone can read between the lines on this one.
So.......the $600,000 that we owe the NCAA takes Pitino"s lawsuit down to 38 million.

Not the point. The point is they can now point to this outcome as 'just cause' for his firing and owe him nothing AND Pitino is being counter sued for money associated with vacated wins and bonuses.

This isn't hard.
How do you know that Im not hard? Maybe I have Porn hub on my other tab going....ever thought of that?

Suing would only cost the school money, make the NCAA more annoyed with the program and in the end the judge would say the NCAA can take away titles of their organization if they see fit to. It is their league and they can do what they want.
UofL must sue to to show the president that the NCAA is Obsolete and has not been consistent with all their enforcement and penalties they blade out to other schools based on quote on quote in fractions that have occurred. With them suing and taking on the NCAA and no matter what has happened after that with the FBI sting operation they still need to put up a fight to let the NC double A know that they are wrong yes did we break rules yes did we benefit from the strippers in the dorms no because we didn't gain any recruits we were talking about impermissible benefits to players that were already on the squad and as a result of that plus the U of L's decision to cooperate and try to make good with the NCAA didn't count for anything for them and they lay the hammer down on U of L so as a result of that the message is has been sent that cooperating with the NCAA is looking to buy you more trouble then UNC sticking the proverbial middle finger up to the NCAA and told him it was none of their business. I guess what my issue is with this whole thing it's not that Louisville lost the title and the appearance in 2012 because of the stripper gate what I have a problem with is the fact that the NC double A no matter what evidence presented are a had a pre-planned course of action for U of L. but we're talking about our organization that has how many Division 1 schools division 2 schools division 3 schools that they have to oversee and only have maybe a tenth of the enforcement folks that they need out there to really investigate and find out what the situation is. So we're going to take the word of a stripper who basically quote on quote pimped out her daughters to a bunch of young 18 and 19 and 20 year old kids that were handed money from a rouge coach. Because I didn't see the NCAA checking out known rumors at Michigan State or University of Kentucky or UNC or UConn or Syracuse what all this stuff went down this is after the fact and they probably would have known about it had the stupid book not had come it out in the first place, what text me off about this situation is is the fact that Katina Powell and her group approached the NCAA to get money out of them like the prostitutes and whores that they are and of course the NCAA takes it all Lock Stock & Barrel starts investigating and all that. Here's my question with social media and the way kids are today that they have to steal their wife's out on social media why wasn't there any pictures rumors or anything about the strippers in the dorm how did the strippers get in the door when there's no record of it and furthermore was there any video evidence of that. I personally would like to know the names of the players that were involved in that and they should be forever banned from U of L forever participating or being ever mentioned in any of the Publications were any news articles or whatever that's out there about U of L basketball. but watching the press conference today show me the true colors of postal Tyra anybody else that was involved in the situation is when they were dealing with the NC double A and for my point of view the term interim means temporary so we need to get postal Tyra and Grissom and whoever else is involved in there the hell out of there and start from scratch they need to hire a new president permanent and new ad permanent and then start working on the new basketball coach but with everything said and done I'm almost to the feeling and saying shut the whole thing down close down the men's basketball program for a couple years and then start again.

They are mad and cannot see the truth, but you said these well. I get it, also.

Agree. And the conspiracies will fly that this UofL administration worked with the NCAA to uphold the penalties behind the scenes so they could use the denial to justify "cause" in Rick's dismissal and toss his $38MM case out.

My speech today in practice if I am David Padgett: They took your coach, they took your title, go take what belongs to them. Screw the NCAA and lets go win the whole freaking thing.

That's not the way it works anyway. The winner just vacates the win, the loser(s) still keep the loss in the record books.
It was just a quote (not a reference to the rule book) from Belein when a reporter asked him awhile back “if in his mind, it makes his team the Champion”?

This is on the previous administration and coaches, not the current ones. This is a hot mess going back to 2011 before we knew who Postel, Tyra and Grissom even were.

Who's idea was it to hire Chuck Smrt then admit to everything?

It won't play like that in court. They took the action at the time with the information they had at hand and against the process that was detailed in contract. RP should get paid as they breached...they literally didn't follow contract as written and his termination letter would be Exhibit A. TJ will also settle out as their argument wouldn't hold up in court considering the preponderance of evidence at hand at the time of termination. The best part is even if RP has to absorb cost for all of this they would still have to pay him more than 20-30 mil.

I have no idea who runs our legal team but between oral arguments gaffe and some of these other issue (such as the RP termination approach and hiring the PI firm) I have even less faith in their abilities as I do the current BOT and Pres, which is saying something.

95% of civil suits never make it to court. It's 95% certain you'd never hear what a judge has to say...

Oh, hell! Blame whoever you want. But at the end of the day this belongs to Pitino, Jurich and Ramsey! Remember what Jurich was hired for? He fired Crume and Cooper! He promised to run the cleanest ship in the NCAA! Well, how did that turnout, Pitino, Jurich and Ramsey worshipers? Postel and the new BOT, did what had to be done. They had plenty of cause to fire those sons of bitches!
<== Jurich would be fighting today's news tooth and nail. He's THE MAN...

Unfortunately I think the only relief we could realistically hope a court would provide would be financial. However if the $600k amount is correct then the cost to litigate would exceed the penalty.

What bothers me is that UNC skates and UL got hammered. I mean it was deserved but UNC got nothing??? NCAA needs to be disbanded and the power 5 conferences set up a rational governing body.

How in world can you put the decision by the Appeals Committee on Grissom or “his band of dickheads”?
Spoken like a true clown show apologist. Bravo!!

(For the newcomers, Smrt is the 5th and knuckles is 6th in line...)

But most of the schools in the Power 5 are happy being able to cheat with no consequences. Why would they want to change things?

I would agree - there are two reasons you fight this:

1) The principle of the matter that those ***hats in Indy took something and we are sure as **** not going to give it up until we make it as painful as possible (which to many people's point would turn the NCAA against us which leads us to point 2..)

2) It's time that somebody started to dismantle the NCAA so we can actually get an organization in place that is in the best interest of the student-athlete and we're as good as anybody to go charge the ramparts.

After reading the decision and our approach in appeal...I wouldn't support. The legal team and the team in the room during oral arguments botched it from the looks of things. We would be arguing a narrow angle that wouldn't have a high degree of success. The only gain would be, in open proceeding, could cause some damage in regards to CoI and Appeals team in regards to their inability to maintain a consistent precedent.

This is on the previous administration and coaches, not the current ones...
The clown show has taken lemons and done anything BUT make lemonade. It's idiotic not too hold them to a higher standard...

To place blame for this situation on anyone pictured above (except for Smrt - who was hired by Ramsey) is truly delusional.
You mean letting the process end here? Who else has decision-making control? Enlighten me...

Find a reputable attorney that thinks litigation has a positive expected outcome. The minute we admitted impermissible benefits were acquired, our fate was sealed.

100% whoever handled the oral arguments during the appeals process should no longer be employed.

They cant change history. Louisville won the title. I’ve seen nothing to indicate it was won with any unfair advantage. I like louisville, the campus and the fans. Always treated me and mine well when we visited. I sincerely hate it for u guys. If only for the reason it gives those knuckle dragging sister molestors down the rd reason to find something positive in their dumpster fire of a season

Holy shit bro, paragraphs are your friend.

I realize it's just semantics, but I don't see it that way. We DID win the 2013 NC, THEN we had it stripped. That's different, in my mind anyways, in not having won it at all. JMO.
It is semantics. The record books won’t acknowledge it. Just try and wear your 2013 championship shirt out in public. You might think you’re wearing it proudly but it’s not much worse than wearing the 40-0 T-shirt’s.
