I didn't take a deep dive into the stats, but the Cards and the Pack are somewhat similar. Cards have the edge offensively by a fairly notable margin, but the Pack pitching is slightly better than ours, though, our guys seem to be coming around a little bit. Pack will have home field, but they aren't world beaters there, 16-5 this season. A little cloudy, maybe some rain today, but the weekend weather looks good. If the Cards can take this road series, that would be beneficial, as a damn good WKU team visits next week, then off to #4 Clemson.

Probably the most important stat is that the Cards are 2-3 in true road games this year. Been getting a lot of home cooking to this point, but that’s going to change these next five weeks. We have 10 home games and 13 road games to finish out the regular season.

Let’s win our first road series of the year this weekend!

Weather looks bleak. Possible, rain, T-storms, and temperatures in the mid 40's. Hopefully, we can get the game in.

Yes, he’s pitching from behind to every batter he’s faced so far this with the exception of the last batter in the first inning. Hopefully he works his way out of that.

Same pattern. Got ahead of the last batter in the inning and got the fly out. Maybe we can hypnotize him into thinking he’s pitching with two outs to everybody!

Eddie’s the King! Was thinking in the first inning that if the pitcher makes a mistake, he’d go yard with that wind blowing out.

West is the next veteran pitcher sliding quietly into obscurity. I expect next Friday we will see a different set of guys coming out of the pen.

Ump is just not calling strikes unless the ball is 100% over the plate. 11 walks by Louisville. Sheesh!

It is not the umpire; it’s our pitchers inability to throw strikes. Honestly, this is a humiliating performance by both a pitching staff and a coaching staff, each appear clueless. 12 walks led to 9 runs; unbelievable lack of control. I am done with this game

Sean with another solid take on pitching staff " Folks, you just have to be able to throw a 3-0 strike".

It’s both. The ump’s strike zone is tight. Real tight. I’d say about 50% of the called balls would be called strikes by any other ump. The zone is stupid.

We walked 16, NCST walked just 3; sorry, same umpire behind the plate. I listen to Sean, and yes he too thought the zone was narrow, but he believed it was consistent for both sides. We have a problem that I fear is not going away.

So odd. West’s last two outings were great. Other pitchers have been throwing strikes. How in the world do you go to multiple pitchers all of whom can’t throw strikes?

Those stats are probably a combination of both Louisville’s poor pitching and Louisville being less patient at the plate than NC State’s hitters.

Once Forbes started by walking 7 batters in 3 innings, it basically became a badge of honor among the NC State players to draw another walk.

Once Forbes started by walking 7 batters in 3 innings,
Williams has to consider a different approach with Patrick. We need Forbes to pitch into the late innings on Friday night. Maybe come out establishing that breaking ball earlier so he can get confident with it. He's obviously overthrowing on his fastball.
The thing is,that's the scouting report. Change it up.Jm2

Cards with 2 HR in the first inning. Looks like a pretty good breeze blowing out today - could see some real fireworks in this one. 4-0 Cards after the first half inning.

Davis 111 exit velocity and 465 feet 😝😲

Ate his Wheaties this morning … two HRs in two AB’s!

And once again, let me say Eddie King is the man. Sacrificed his body to catch that deep fly ball up against the fence. Hope he’s okay!

😂 Looks like Eddie is okay … just drilled a 2 run HR, his second in two days.

Shiver is in fire (grand slam). Jack Brown(!) is on fire, first collegiate hit in his second collegiate at bat 🔥… Nate Early is on fire (3-run HR). Looks like the Cards are a little salty after last night’s loss. 25-5 Cards in the top of the 7th.
