Watershed moment in this season or just another series?
I could even say in the state of the program as it stands today.
@Bardman,what's that streak up to currently on lost ACC series?
If there's any chance, outside of winning the ACC TOURNAMENT,of getting enough wins to get an at large bid,it starts tomorrow night.
Time for this team to stand up and be counted.

Damn! I didn't realize it's been 9 ACC series defeats in a roll. That's definitely not acceptable. Just a couple years ago, Louisville had the most ACC wins since joining the conference.

We have went from dominating to below average with the same coaching staff. How long will it go before the seat starts to get really hot? We can all blame covid for the interruption but no longer can use that excuse today.

Whatever adjustment that needs to be made better start soon, if Louisville baseball is to continue to be an elite program.

One thing I would like to see that 1,000% won't happen: a steady, consistent lineup. Have a core group. It's fine shifting them around in the batting order, but the constant lineup changes are not healthy. It's great for ego management, but dammit, maybe it's time to start hurting feelings. Pick your guys, go with them, stick with them.

I disagree. Thats the thing with baseball now with more left handed starters and specialists. For example, Moore and Humphries are two of our best percentage hitters but they struggle against LHP. Some times you have to go with the percentages or those guys have to change the outcome.

The results aren't there, though. The team hasn't been any good.

Is Anderson hurt? I mean…EKjr is DH tonight

Well, he just delivered. I’ll eat that one.

The base running miscues look ridiculous. They better not come back to haunt us.

Yep, that double screw-up. Pop-up a bunt attempt and then our catcher tries to beat the ball to third. Just too risky right there.

Announcer finally got it right.Cards letting Wolfpack hang around. Don't like it..

I like Rose in the game - somewhere. Not so sure I wouldn’t try him at 1B too.

No I do too. It just seems like he's the least experienced outfielder playing the spot that usually requires the best ball covering guy.

We went to the game tonight. It was a great win but damn it was cold and windy out there.. Hope the Cards can turn it on and finish the season strong..

They took advantage of NC St’s pitching illness. That is what you are supposed to do! Today should be beautiful and hopefully they all slept well and are ready to hit the ball hard today.

I really like Webster in this spot. He has become not just the most consistent starter we have but one of the leaders of this team. I'm sure it was always Mac's intention that the veterans on this team lead this team. With the emergence of a few guys that haven't been heard from in a minute and hopefully JT getting it going, maybe they will.

It's right there in front of them. Time to stand up and perform.

Beautiful day at the ballpark. Cards threaten big time in the first and come up empty. They hit the ball in the second and score 3 runs. Us - 3, them - 0.

Terrible defensive play by EKjr. Umps strike zone has tightened Waayyy up for Evan.

Yep, the strike zone got very tight. Couple that with just missing the strike zone all together- bad inning. Couple of bad defensive plays as well.

We have to be the worst baserunning team in college baseball. I can't remember ever seeing a runner doubled off from first base on a pop up to the 2nd basemen.

It was a designed hit and run. The pop up was the worst thing that could have happened.
I know it was. Moore took too long to locate the ball. I've seen a million pop ups while a runner is stealing a base, and they always get back unless they trip and fall down.

Zion is behind the plate. Interesting. Also, I guess Forbes is now a full time pitcher. He showed a lot promise last year batting and fielding.
I think I heard Moth say yesterday Forbes battling a minor back injury. He is probably one of the better defensive outfielders with Lippe. If Lippe gets going at the plate,he'll be the every day guy in the outfield.

Poor base running is almost like a Louisville trademark.. Been like that for YEARS..! I like being aggressive but sometimes it's just dumb ...

It is great to get the series win, now let's get greedy and get the sweep.
I have been pretty unimpressed with the team in almost all areas, but we may be turning a corner with 3 straight conference wins.

-Zion is a monster, stick him in the lineup everyday
-our aggressive base running is often criticized, but it paid off couple times yesterday
-more pitchers are emerging like Lessman, Starke as middle relievers and Biven seems to want to be a bad ass closer
-in conference play, King/Humphrey/Rose/Napleton and Kilen are over .300
-several other key players (shall go nameless) are under .200 and way under

Aside from the miscue in the outfield where Eddie battling sun in a position he doesn't usually play,I thought defensively one of our better games. Kilen is a freaking beast at ss and like I posted yesterday,I think Lippe is the best center fielder we have. He is a ball hawk.

Kilan's off balance throw to 2nd base was MLB like and probably the main reason the Cards held onto the lead.

I think overall this team is good. A few things here and there and they can be great. The tools are there.
