Nate Ament update

He's going to Duke. I guarantee it. Idrc though, the dude may be talented...but he is a bean pole. I would rather have an experienced wing or big that has muscle.

Could it be he's waiting until Duke's season ends? Duke right now is not dwelling as much on next year's roster as they try to win a national championship. Maybe Ament is waiting to see who comes back to Duke?

If he goes to Duke he will face more competition for playing time then he will by going to Louisville at this point. If he is as good as he is projected to be playing time is crucial because he won’t be in college very long. I would think he will be in college 1 or 2 years at the most so the opportunity to display his talent is important. I don’t care if Boozer or anybody else is in his ear his decision is going to based on money. At this point he has no loyalty to any of the schools recruiting him.
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!

In other news, Cedric Henderson announces his regret in having signed with UGA. My apologies for the sarcasm, but this exchange is so reminiscent of the recruiting battle that Denny and Hugh Durham had back in the day.

I have no idea who Ament chooses, but I am most encouraged that UL has moved so far up in such a short time period, to a point where we are a serious candidate for a much heralded 5 Star HS recruit.

As for me personally, give me a few more Adrian Wooly level transfers and I will be happy.

Nate Ament tells ESPN that he is postponing his decision.

“I’m just not 100% yet; I want to take some extra time to be completely confident in my choice. I will connect with the people in my circle and will also be interested to see some transfer portal moves now that the tournament is coming to a close.”

He is the No. 4 prospect in theclass of 2025 and is deciding between Arkansas, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, and Tennessee.

They clearly need another athletic wing. I haven’t seen them listed with any guys at the wing. More than likely that is due to the possibility of Ament. When I start seeing wings set up zoom calls and visits that is the day Ament is no longer an option. He is wanting to see what Ark and Duke are doing in the portal. I think the money is a factor but playing time is going to matter to him.

Louisville has been focused on bigger and more athletic guards. I think there is room for another stud at the 2. Once that is filled the back court should be good. Then they can focus on what they want to do at the 3.

Do you think there is need for another/back up PG to come off the bench or can Kobe fill that need?

According to the local talk shows the coaches love Kobe. He was really coming on before he blew his knee out.

They do have some flexibility at the 3 just depends how they want to attack it. Ament is a unicorn at 6-9 that plays like a guard. Hadley and Rooths. That makes them stupid long. Without him they could go smaller 6-4 to 6-6. Big bodied dudes that shoot and create. A lot of guys in portal that would be interesting. The Xavier kid, Cromwell, would be an example. He just committed which makes for a nasty set of guards.

They can now go multiple ways at the 3-4-5
