Louisville Softball team defeated Syracuse 4-1 Saturday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium. With the victory, the Cardinals clinch the series, marking the second straight ACC series win for Louisville.

The Cards are now 23-17 overall (7-7 ACC). Syracuse falls to 20-17 overall (3-12 ACC). The Cardinals will look to sweep the series against the Orange tomorrow at noon. This one will be available on ACC Network.

The Orange were the first to score -- taking 1-0 lead behind Kelly Breen's RBI single in the first inning.

The Cards tied the game at 1-1 in the second. Hannah File opened with a single and took second on a Ally Alexander perfectly placed bunt single. Carmyn Greenwood followed with a single to send File across the plate.

The fourth inning featured Louisville adding three more runs. Singles from Jenna Servi and Greenwood were followed by an Otis RBI single. Taylor Roby lifted a deep fly that brought Greenwood home. Kendall Smith's RBI double plated Otis to put the Cardinals comfortably ahead 4-1.

Sam Booe got the start in the circle and went three solid innings for UofL. Taja Felder followed and earned her first win of the season, Felder faced nine and retired them all in her three innings. Taylor Roby entered the circle in the seventh and the Orange went three up, three down against her. Roby earns her second save of the season.
