The nation's best football player....just like last year.

The national "spin" on Lamar this year is that he is still really good, even if he hasn't delivered near the same crazy numbers as last season.

Really? Hmmmm, OK.

2016 Lamar Jackson - Heisman Trophy Winner

Total Offense - 393.4 yards per game, 3.9 Tds per game, 1.2 Turnovers per game
Passing - 272.5 ypg, 56% completions, 8.7 yards per attempt, 3.3 TD/Int Ratio, 148.8 Passer Rating
Rushing - 6.0 yds per carry, 121 ypg, 1.6 Tds per game

2017 Lamar Jackson

Total Offense - 418.2 yards per game, 3.5 Tds per game, 1.0 Turnovers per game
Passing - 309.8 ypg, 60% completions, 8.8 yards per attempt, 3.4 TD/Int Ratio, 150.4 Passer Rating
Rushing - 6.4 yds per carry, 108.5 ypg, 1.4 Tds per game

Looks like the same old Lamar Jackson to me, except he throws it a little more this year (and a little better) than last year, and fumbles a little less (although I couldn't find individual fumble stats any where). It's not his fault our defense is much worse this season. If our defense was as good, Lamar's numbers would likely be even better than they are....which are still as good, if not better, than a year ago.
