Just wondering what is wrong with this team? Been a long time Card fan since Wes Unseld stepped on the floor at the Ville. Lost interest soon after Denny retired and have focused more on our football team.
Thought maybe KP could revitalize the program.
Is it a lack of quality players or is KP just not head coaching material. Would like to get excited about B ball again but hard to
watch this team.

Think about it this way. They were terrible last year 13-19.. They lost 70% of their scoring from a terrible teams. Replaced it with nothing. They were going to struggle offensively. That has happened.

Defensively they lost their best defenders. The replacements are not good defenders. They are awful on defense.

There was no way this roster was winning more than 8-9 games even if the players and system meshed. It hasn’t.

It's not an either-or thing. Everything is bad. You don't get to be as bad as this team is if just 1 thing is wrong. The coaching is bad, the players are bad. Everything.

I think a lack of effort can squarely be blamed on the players. If they didn’t get themselves in condition, then they shoulder alot of that blame. How many embarrassing run out dunks have there been in the last 10 minutes of games. All that being said, Payne has been a complete disaster so far.

Sounds like to me you’re only a Crum fan and not a Louisville fan?

The one thing they could focus on IMO to get results is defense. We have a hard time scoring, and we get very few easy baskets.

No reason an athletic team with length can’t produce the effort to play good defense. It simply has to be demanded by the head coach. And it could keep us close enough in some games to contend for a win…

This job must be build from the floor up or you will be back to a mid major team for years. I have seen improvement from the start of year to where it is now. Early in season we lost 3 games by 1pt and those teams were pretty average to say the least, that's how bad the players are.

Yes, but it’s the coaches job to get the kids to give effort. If they don’t give effort, why are they out there playing? The conditioning fall back on the coaching staff as well.

You been around in 18, 19, 20, 21 year Olds lately ? Most of them have to be pushed, guided, coaxed, prodded into doing anything. Some have enough personal pride to patrol themselves but I can tell you from being around the AAU circuit it's the exception not the rule.

Yes, this is the depressing truth. This generation has been coddled more than any before them. They expect things without knowing why they expect them.

The combination of the culture shift and the smart phone has unfortunately produced a generation of young people who are totally distracted and require assistance for the simplest of tasks.

This group of basketball players need at least one experienced leader on the court who has been through it, and a experienced coach who has seen about everything in his coaching career.

This team has neither and it's being left up to a group of players who have no idea how to get a hold of this thing. They and their head coach are learning on the job and the only hope we all can have is someone will figure it out.

But hope has been missing in action around these parts for awhile now.
