I'd like to see a matchup with Kansas.I really enjoy matchups like this. I wouldn’t mind seeing us add UCLA and/or Kansas in the future!
Sometimes it comes down to more than $$$ and cents. A home and home series between the two schools shows mutual respect and will still grab plenty of eyeballs. Leave the made for TV crap in mega arenas to our neighbors to the east.Hmm...possibly you fail to understand that more U of L fans can attend in Indy than in Bloomington. More tickets, probably 50% will be allotted to U of L. Good revenue! Plus, the game will be a major draw on national television and many U of L fans enjoy games in Indy. U of L has many fans in Indiana, and it is an easy drive from Louisville. There is nothing to dislike about playing in Indy.

Sad but true. The new ACC revenue distribution model rewards TV viewership so you will probably see more of this, not less.
I wasn't aware of the new ACC revenue distribution model and its implications going forward. Thank You for helping bring me up to speed. While I believe a game in Indy will draw more casual fans on both sides to attend in person, the game is going to draw eyeballs regardless of where it is played. Provided IU gets their act together. Going to a game in Indy is a whole lot easier for me than a trip to Bloomington and having to purchase a scalped ticket. The new ACC revenue distribution model rewards TV viewership so you will probably see more of this, not less.
That was called the Big 4 Classic in the old RCA Dome and it was UofL, IU, ND, & UK (not Purdue) with tickets split evenly...I miss the old four team rotating series in Indy from back in the 1980s with us, IU, Purdue and Notre Dame.
Seats suck; most who want to actually see the action have learned to stay at home and watch on tv.Hmm...possibly you fail to understand that more U of L fans can attend in Indy than in Bloomington. It’s going to be played in the arena, not the dome. The arena has very good sight lines.Seats suck; most who want to actually see the action have learned to stay at home and watch on tv.
It's played where the Pacers play, can't think of what it's called now, great place to watch a game. Glad its not in Lucas Oil..Seats suck; most who want to actually see the action have learned to stay at home and watch on tv.
Sorry for misspeaking. 35 years doesn't erase the memory but does cloud the details lol. I do remember playing Purdue during the Crum era. The wife and my 2nd date was a trip to see the Cards and Purdue play at Market Square Arena in 1996.That was called the Big 4 Classic in the old RCA Dome and it was UofL, IU, ND, & UK (not Purdue) with tickets split evenly.
We alternated playing IU & ND. It was a GREAT 1st weekend in every December for a while until the NFL moved to playing games on that Saturday too and the Big 4 was caput.
I miss it alot, but this game may have a similar feel with the Big 10 football Championship also being played in town.
If the Cards are in the ACC football Championship, I'll have to miss this bb game though.
I am sorry to say I never got to see a game in Market Square Arena.Sorry for misspeaking. 35 years doesn't erase the memory but does cloud the details lol. I thought it was a great facility at the time, but powers in Indy had the foresight to replace it with something state of the art and more enduring. Laugh all you want, but Nap Town is very proactive.I am sorry to say I never got to see a game in Market Square Arena.
Go Cards Beat Purdue!
I don’t know why placing the game in India-noplace is better for tv ratings. Attendance won’t be very much better in Indy than at Assemly Hall or the Yum. Besides, Bloomington is closer than Indy for Louisville fans as Louisville is about the same distance for IU fans. The new ACC revenue distribution model rewards TV viewership so you will probably see more of this, not less.
