Feels like there is massive positive momentum right now for UofL basketball. As if a sleeping giant has finally awakened after years of slumber.

Most of it has been fueled by the unparalleled energy, work ethic, and enthusiasm of Pat Kelsey and staff. We all said that if he had a really good first season that it would help the program in recruiting and it appears that it has. The donors are on board providing a huge NIL budget and with this first season under his belt, PK can point to the success and accolades of transfers like Chucky and Edwards in his system.

He has "stolen" Wooley from Bama and now Conwell from IU. UofL feels like the big dog program that we always should be.

Last year it seemed some portal guys were hesitant to come to UofL, even though PK assembled a good team. However it genuinely feels like Kelsey is picking and getting EXACTLY who he wants this time around- at least for the most part. It's exciting seeing next year's team being assembled and if this start is any indication, next year's team looks absolutely loaded. The ReviVille is here!

We have all said it winning cures a lot of issues. The most important thing Kelsey did was open the pocket books of the people that mattered. Louisville basketball has been the highest revenue generating program in the country. Mack and Payne didn’t embrace the business side of the program. Kelsey didn’t just embrace it he drove it. We talk about the standard of Louisville basketball in today’s environment the standard has to get back to dominating revenue generation. Get back to 40-50M in revenue then share it with the players.

Once that happens they become the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox or LA Dodgers. This is a market driven by $$$.

Obviously winning gets people interested and invested. Kelsey started waking the program and fans up from the get go.
The expectations are set by the standard of Louisville basketball. Expect to win now…none of this “it’s broken “ or “we need years”….that’s a backwards approach and says it’s OK to accept mediocrity, it will be better later.
Lace ‘em up to win. If not, what are we even doing?
