It's weird that we don't get some of the top o-lineman, but we need to...that's where it starts. And I haven't been impressed with Coach Klenakis for awhile, now.
Nobody's "happy" with anything. But like me, you're responsible for what you post. If you're engaging in an emotional, nonsensical rant, don't complain when others point out how ridiculous that is...
wtf?The point is you don't know anything for sure. You say it's coaching, but that's an opinion. In time, you MIGHT know. You know more now than you did about a coach when he started three years ago. But where were your comments last year or the last game? Same coach.
Qualify what you say, much more so if it's criticism vs. compliments. You might think everyone knows that's just your opinion, but we're not sure if YOU recognize that. Say it...
didnt know we had 5 star player in the state of ky. Wish we could have had him for a visit. I wonder what Mike Cassity is up to these days.Did the Cards even get a sniff at this in-stateplayer?
Jedrick Wills is a 6-5, 300-pound Offensive Tackle from Lexington, KY. ... 247Sports Take: Alabama lands a violent lineman in Wills. ... Alabama’s new commit Jedrick Wills is one of the best prospects at the point of attack in the country.
it is hard to not get upset when so much was at stake and none of our kids showed emotion or desire to compete, and the coaches are on the sideline rubbing their chin lost like a deer in headlights.I don't ever get "upset" and suggest that you try not to. You're not gonna think clearly in that state.
But you don't for sure most of what you say. That's not sunshine pumping or making excuses; that's about you...
I'm not pissed off about you or anyone else being pissed off. I'm not about telling you how to be a fan as I appreciate the same latitude - particularly when we disagree. You were dealing 1-5 , but the rest of it is you being pissed off because fans are pissed off.
How any louisville fan can be happy about our line play last night is amazing. Shaenee high school in its last 1000 games have lost 900 plus of them, but their linemen run a silent count better than the #5 team in the country.
So for any louisville fan that believe klenakis is a solid coach, show me how you come to that conclusion....
3 years in and we are a fart in the wind in downtown chicago.
For the sake of this argument, I am the guy in this video saying fire Klanakis and you are the old woman saying shut up. lolI'm not pissed off about you or anyone else being pissed off. I'm not about telling you how to be a fan as I appreciate the same latitude - particularly when we disagree.
I was being sarcastic to highlight what I think is the absurdity in some of the posts on this thread. I'm not happy with the way the entire team played last night however calling for a coach to be immediately fired and players to have their jerseys taken from them are in my opinion ridiculous and, somewhat childish.
'Real' programs - 'Big Boy' programs don't behave in that fashion. They figure it out and move forward. There is precisely 1 team in all of CFB that has to this point proven that they are immune to playing poorly and being beaten - the rest are susceptible to bad matchups and performances less than their best.
Seemingly lost in your comments is the fact that UH is a really good team and Herman is a really good coach. I'd be willing to bet that absent all of the chatter of him going either to LSU or TX, that team is undefeated. I wonder how many UH fans wanted coaches fired or players booted after they lost to smu? Or closer to home - same question about FSU fans after we embarrassed them?
Your desire for CK to be fired would resonate with me more if there were objective facts and numbers to back them up. Here's what is real / factual -I personally can not take anyone defending Klanakis seriously. He has had 3 years and we cant even stand up on the field, let alone block.
I will not ever understand how he could possibly still be a part of this team.

Go Cards
I'll speculate that you don't follow jacksh!t but troll around looking for someone or something to blame when you're unhappy.
And if you continue to live among slapd!cks, you'll came away with all sorts of misinformation (and maybe a disease or two)...

5 stars don't think they're going to sit - even in Gumpland. And whether we like it or not, UofL is not yet one of those programs that many kids outside of the city dream about playing for.The Cards offered, but it came down to Bama and SuCkS as his final two.
Go to Bama-redshirt, sit for two yrs, finally get PT as a junior while winning
multiple Championships.
Go to SuCkS-start on a team who aspirations are 6-6, should end up 4-8 as the
rest of the SEC gets better
Come to UofL, start right away , help lead UofL to a potential ACC championship.
Rager, what I was looking for is a reply like one of my friends is on the coaching staff, or Mike Singer told me privately, or I'm a high school coach who interacts occasionally with U of L coaches.Zippy, you are off base here. You asked for evidence of another poster following recruiting, and you got it. Now you are just looking prissy because you got fact slapped. Not your best look.
All you and your type do is sign up for a premium membership and fancy yourself a recruiting expert. You "follow" info on the internet, and act like that info is rock solid. You don't say "I THINK we may have recruiting issues BASED ON WHAT I READ." No, you're a freakin' recruiting expert at the ready when you're overcome with emotion to smear people making ten times more money than you do and working fifty times harder to identify good recruits.
But carry on, because I know how credible you are...

Not trying to get in the middle of your pissing contest here but just out of curiosity, what do you attribute the lack of quality (at least on paper) OL recruiting? Who's fault is it specifically and, what exactly should be done about it? IOnce again, know it all Zipp shows himself to be a know it all imbecile. I'm not a premium member anywhere. You must really love the taste of shoe leather considering how many times you get that foot in the mouth.
Again, you have nothing but insults and diversions. You can't address facts that are posted. Typical loser MO that you've always used. You still haven't refuted anything I said, much less even directly addressed them. So answer the questions. You happy with year 5 having an OL class of three 2 stars and two 3 stars or should we be getting 4 stars and at least some consideration from an occasional 5 star? I'll hang up and listen while you insult, and divert.

I'll say that from the outside looking in, it does appear that OL recruiting gets less attention than skill positions particularly if you're using the services ratings of the players UofL is in on. That said, it's also true that BP has recruited 2 stars that have had good NFL careers. Perhaps BP's views OL like the NFL looks at RBs - a few great ones with the rest being a dime a dozen.
AND WILL NOT HAPPEN AS LONG AS KLENAKIS IS ON OUR STAFF.If the Cards cant get 4 and 5 star lineman, then the 2 and 3 stars need to be properly coached and coached up.
So far that hasnt happened under Petrino 2.0
I am a huge fan of UofL and believer in their ability to compete year in and year out for ACC titles and higher. Given that, I feel the need to highlight that at this point if you are comparing our recruiting to Alabama (Saban), osu (Meyer), Michigan (Harbaugh) and Clemson (Swinney) - you are setting yourself up for disappointment. The blame goes to the coaching staff in general, but in particular to the coach that recruits that position. Everyone occasionally finds a diamond in the rough. (Remember than skinny QB from Michigan that the Patriots got in the 6th round?) But all in all, the talent shows itself early on.
As I've said, let look at UofLs OL commits for next year. Three 2 stars, and two 3 stars. Average at very best. Now lets look at the top 4 contenders for the title this year and their O line commits:
Louisville: 5 commits: Three 2 stars. Two 3 stars.
Bama: 5 commits. One 3 star. Two 4 stars. Three 5 stars (including one from Ky)
OSU: 2 commits, both 5 stars
Michigan: 5 commits. Four 3 stars. One 4 star.
Clemson. 3 commits. Two 3 stars. One 4 star.
This is just a 1 year snapshot of teams that are already loaded. We know that Michigan and Clemson have had more than their fair share of 4-5 stars over the last few years. We're NOT loaded, and we have 2 and 3 stars waiting in the wings. Don't see a step forward there.
When their worst is better than our best, the difference between Legitimate contenders and the second tier becomes obvious. Our line makes us second tier.
I'll put our skill players against their skill players any day of the week. Houston, Duke and UVA showed the price for not putting the same emphasis on getting a good line as with skill players. Skill players can't do much when your heisman leading QB gets sacked 11 times in one game.
Hyperbole much? What we diplayed against Houston is an embarrasment to organized football.
BP we have a solid difference of opinion. You love numbers, I love the eye test. I personally do noT believe our offensive line (all of your pretty numbers included) pass the eye test. I believe this for one reason.Your desire for CK to be fired would resonate with me more if there were objective facts and numbers to back them up. Here's what is real / factual -
1. 4th in CFB in pts / game - 46
2. 4th in CFB in yds / game - 558.5
3. 20th in rushing yds / game - 255
4. 38th in passing yds / game - 303.5
Those numbers include the game against Houston. It simply makes no sense to say that our OL is "unable to block or stand up" - the numbers tell otherwise. Additionally those statistics have gone up in each of the three years since BP (et al) have been back. You post as if we are 2-9 and are unable to do anything offensively.
Simply put, your rhetoric does not square up with the record.

I think that BP is awesome but let's be real - he came back here with a lot of baggage and that affects recruiting. As much as I think that he is a better X & O coach than 2 of those guys - they and there schools have built in advantages over BP and UofL at this point. UofL simply has to continue to work hard and win games. The recruits will come.
I guess I was giving you even more credit than you deserved. Scouring the web for "Louisville recruiting". What a foundation for expertise! Maybe you should start your own recruiting website, but don't quit your day job...Once again, know it all Zipp shows himself to be a know it all imbecile. I'm not a premium member anywhere. I'll call bull$hit on that--you don't hate anything about it. Apparently, it's your go-to move....I hate it that I have to bad mouth a coach and a line on my favorite team, but I want in that top tier...
Stalker, just like the pseudo cop and your slapd!ck friends......Go back to cruising King Fish, I'm sure you were more successful at that.
Again - lots to agree with. You know however that BP's issues are brought up by opposing coaches in recruiting. They have done better each year with regard to recruiting and personally I'm glad they put more emphasis on the skill positions. And true be told, recruiting skill positions has got to be significantly easier for BP. His offense and overall scheme lend itself to having outstanding skill position players to want to play for him.True to a certain extent, but the skill players are coming. We have the Heisman frontrunner. Just got a verbal from the #2 rated RB in Florida. Overflowing with talented WR's. Grantham is getting it done on defense. They're just about in reload mode. Sheldon Rankins was awesome last year and the #12 overall pick in the draft. Brown stepped right into that spot at NT and you can't tell the difference. Recruited so many good LB's that Keith Brown wound up leaving for WKU. Alexander is only a soph and is already one of the better corners in the nation.
Kind of hard to explain all that away using the Petrinos baggage theory. Petrinos last issues were about 6 years ago. High school players today were in elementary or middle school. They know what they see now.
I hate it that I have to bad mouth a coach and a line on my favorite team, but I want in that top tier. We're an offensive line away from being there, and I don't see anything being done to change that situation. Until we do, we'll stay in the group of "really good, but can't quite compete with the best" category.
with this as your position, and that absolute meltdown, clownshow our offensive line displayed, do you honestly believe klanakis is the answer for us on the offensive line? That said, I would bet that moving forward there is a greater emphasis placed on OL recruiting.
I think that recruiting is a team effort and BP needs to get as involved with the OL recruiting as he is with the skill guys. I also think that if Petrino doesn't think that Klenakis can do the job, he'll make a change.with this as your position, and that absolute meltdown, clownshow our offensive line displayed, do you honestly believe klanakis is the answer for us on the offensive line?
Google and find out, like you do your recruiting info...P.S. Ken is "pretty close"? You're not Ken Zipperle?
Further demonstrating what an idiot you are. Find the post to understand why......And for clarification, I've not said a word about the D line. I've complimented them with how they reload...
