UL wore similar uniforms [except for the trunks] in the late 50's thru the mid late late 60's and later. IIRC. On a side note, I recall watching a number of ABA and even a few NBA players play in the "Dirt Bowl" back in the day. What I don't get is the Dirt Bowl tie in? Any help? Thanks in advance.

Paying tribute to the legacy of basketball in the City of Louisville, not just at the University. A lot of great players never got to be Cards, went somewhere else or never played college ball at all.

Thanks BooneCo_Card. The guys doing the broadcast didn't really get into that. The morning CJ failed to do so also. Anyway Ron King Louisville Central comes to mind although I have forgotten why he chose to play at FSU.

Ron King and teammate Otto Petty were snatched up by FSU Coach Hugh Durham. A lot of recruiting violations had them on probation, $$$ may have been involved. The Seminoles were ineligible for most of Dave Cowens' career. The FSU team that went to the NC had just come off probation that year.

There. That happened 50+ years ago. Plz don't ask what I did yesterday lol.
