College World Series

Sorry you were disappointed. Go Cards!
Not disappointed the Cards won, which with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs and three runs already in, did not look apparent.

Bringing in a lefty to start the 9th proved to be the wrong move, especially if he was going to use Biven. The Cards holding on to win was definitely a surprise and if I didn't know better, the Cards look like a team of destiny.

Wasn't holding him back. He threw over 100 pitches last time out. Wanted to keep him on normal days of rest. Sometimes you just have to have faith in your guys.
It was almost 4 days rest 3 days and about 16 hours, so I would have been fine to start him. Coach Dan went another way, and I was fine with that. Dan thought BP day but still had to use Bevin to finish. Now he has a fully rested Forbes who will need to give us over 100 pitches again, and 7 solid innings. Hopefully someone will step up from the Pen for 6 outs. Rinse and repeat for tomorrow with Eberle, expect if we do make it tomorrow. It will be all hands-on deck in relief if Eberle in a win or go home scenario. You would hope on Beven he could rest today & tomorrow, Friday maybe starts the first game of the finals on Saturday??

We need this offense to continue to get hot, take the sense of urgency off Forbes so he's not squeezing that ball too tight today.
Remember, if we're to pull this thing off,Patrick will have to be counted on one more time this weekend. Today needs to be very high efficiency with the pitch count.

The offense can take some of the pressure off of him having to carry the whole load. Throw strikes Pat!!

IF we get through game 1 today,Eberle should be fresh as hour old bread. He only pitched three and two thirds Sunday. IF we win today, pulling Ethan when he(Mac)did on Sunday could pay huge dividends tomorrow.

First things first. Let's get em boys!!

The aquamarine roosters are overdue for a bad game, maybe 2. Maybe that rough stretch will start today!
You would think great fortune would eventually wane? They have won 25 games in a roll. This is their first world series appearance since they won it all several years ago.

Are they seriously going to win it again? Only make the WS twice in 6 years but win it all both times?

LSU is probably going to win it anyway.

I am out of town and just kept up the best I can. Alex’s errors - yes, runners right in front of him; still needs to make the play and he would say the same. Pitching decisions-yes, there are still questionable pitching decisions-hard to argue. You just hope it turns out favorably for you. Whether we think there are good decisions or poor decisions we al want the team to win. I think it is very reasonable for fans to question decisions and then turn around and say ‘That worked out well for us - good decision’. Forbes today - don’t see any other option. As stated, the bats need to on fire and our guys need to make their pitcher throw as many pitches as possible.

THIS has to be in the back of their minds….when will the streak end?

I believe they will get “tighter” every game now.

I don't think you understand baseball. MLB pitchers rest a minimum of 5 days. Your regular college starting pitchers start a game every 7 days (otherwise teams would be throwing their Friday night starter again on Tuesdays or Wednesdays). Doesn't work like that. That's just it he's not fully rested. Yes, he can probably pitch but maybe 50-60 pitches could be his limit. We want and need him to be closer to 100% if possible.

Alicea gets to second with no outs and cannot advance him. That can't happen
Just more of Moore struggling with the bat. He can't get bunts down and he needed to pull that pitch to get the runner to 3rd. He's just not been right the entire post season.

Well, looks like it's over in the 1st. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Coach Mac, he made the wrong choice today. Even if the Cards score 10 runs in the 9th inning and win anyway.

I understand protecting Forbes but there had to be a better option than a pitcher who has 44 career innings?

Player's first philosophy strikes again. If it's not Forbes, then why not Eberle? Threw 3 and 2 thirds Sunday.

I get it. Sort of.

This guys are making bank now. But we get to lose so they can make more in “their future”.

I’m going to mow grass. They play better when I don’t watch.

Exactly. Just a horrible decision.
