Thoughts? Expectations?
My expectations are: The team plays well; busts their butts; hustles.
My thoughts are: beating 10th ranked Duke at Home is a very tall order. My guess is lose this game.

I hope we win. I think the Cards can win. It will certainly be an upset to do it.

Duke is strong defensively, balanced offensively and is deep. I think their length and athleticism will give us some trouble.
I want one of the next two and getting UNC at home on Sunday may be our best shot.

Agree; just a tough place to pull an upset, particularly arriving as a 13 point underdog. However, this is actually a favorable matchup for us, as for a change, we will have a size advantage inside. The question is whether Olivia, Elif, Isla and Nyla can contribute in a positive way. Avoid the fouls when defending the paint.

I really thought Nyla was going to be an all conference type of player this year. Instead, to me, she has regressed. While she has had her moments…her footwork is slow, her decision making is slow and even her offensive moves are slow. I hate saying that, but, she is not helping the team a whole heck of a lot. I’d rather see Hardy at this point.

Ok, losing my patience. The calls are very one-sided. Just so much contact by Duke and nothing gets called. We breath on them and the refs blow the whistle.

Well up by 6 to end the first half not bad I hope we can keep it up. We are getting all our scoring from the guards not much from the bigs. I hope Harris can get it going the second half because she is just non existent in this game. I don’t know why he doesn’t sub her out with Russell?

I still think it is like the men’s situation where we are better than what the voters are giving us credit for. The men lost everyone from last year and we had two years of losing seasons. They just can’t comphrehend how we can turn it around that quickly. The women don’t have a super star player like HVL, Shoni, Dana Evans, etc. We just have 9 good freshmen and a couple of upperclassmen. To the voters they don’t see how we could be that good.

There have been multiple times we blocked out and let the ball bounce on the court only for Duke to pick it up and score.
No Russell. Doghouse maybe? Still ill?
No Berry in the second half?
I think Olivia has been pretty effective but they are pounding her, not calling those fouls and she is getting frustrated.

Here we go. Late 3d qtr and our team starts to dissolve. Also, our inbounds plays are the WORST!! Duke has 100% momentum going into the 4th qtr.

We are out of control bringing the ball up court the wrong people handling the ball. We are turning the ball over to much I some players are trying to do too much.

I was complaining about the refs; yet, somehow Duke is going to the line for the first time tonight. They still have gotten away with a lot though.

Going down to the wire which is really stressful so far we are solid from the line ( I hope I didn’t jut jinx us ) we have to play smart to finish for the win.

It was noted at the beginning of the game that Duke is very foul-prone. It would be more lopsided if all the contact in the first half had been called.

Lots of heroes tonight
-clutch Curry at the line and couple of big 3's. Coach has a way of making sure she has the ball in her hands late.
-Russell with 2 big offensive rebounds and the great drive on the short clock out of bounds play.
-Roberts didn't get many clean looks but was aggressive (6-6 at the line)
-everybody else with total team defense/Duke 20 turnovers and 2-13 3's, I remember when we couldn't guard anybody!
