Cards Fans , Alumni and donors

I wouldn’t pay the MF’er sh*t! Kick his azz to the curb is what he’s worthy of! Worse hire in basketball history!
First, I hope Kerry’s fellow Cards are correct. Second, yep, kick him to the curb. He can take what is offered or he can sue for the full amount which would just cause more harm to his already wrecked career.

U of L has never had donors and fans raise buyout money. Not for Petrino or even Mack’s much smaller buyout. Ain’t saying it will never happen, but it would be unprecedented (which means unlikely).

All of the buyouts that U of L has contractually agreed to in the past, however the math was structured, worked out to around three years of salary. No one was gifted anything. That’s what the market pays these guys.

And if you try to reduce that unilaterally, you’ll pay up somewhere else like the salary itself. One employer in the market doesn’t get to dictate terms to everyone else…

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

No Cards fans have ever witnessed such disgusting futility basketball wise.

And it wont get any better.

Almost think payne is a trojan horse.

Don’t know if any fans have ever witnessed anything this bad.

I honestly don't see any coaching. I've watched every game this season so far and it really looks like backyard ball. Not many (if any) offensive sets. Even inbounding the ball looks like a jump ball. On another note; Kenny may be too nice. Nice works ok when you're coaching the NBA or even a roster full of 5* kids. But these kids need a foot up their arse and shown some direction, fundamentals, and learn some plays.

Ok, why you trying to give backyard ball a bad name?
And yes, I get the too nice angle. Rarely works in leadership.

KP was smart he knew he couldn’t coach so he had a huge buyout put in on purpose. It’s the stupidity of the people who supported his hiring and the stupidity of the people who made it happen.

I’ll have to argue you about KP being smart. His agent may have been.

People think I like to unfairly criticize U of L management. But the buyout they agreed to in Payne's contract is not much different than any highly paid head coach. The agents know what to ask for and what's commonplace...

I believe this situation is much different than anything that UL, or for that matter, most any major basketball program has experienced.

KP’s arrival here was a direct result of Junior, Wade and other legacy UL folks pulling him into a position that he was ill prepared to lead. I believe it was a very well-intentioned initiative, but obviously it took place under the most unusual circumstances, one where our basketball program found itself in an unprecedented condition. In truth, putting Kenny in this role has only resulted in humiliation and destroyed his coaching career.

So, it will require these same folks to step in and broker an arrangement between UL and Kenny, one where he can resign with dignity and without robbing the UL bank. This University can find an Administrative position for Kenny, a role that fits Kenny‘s reputation as a man with integrity and character.

Along these lines, I urge my fellow UL fans to temper any criticism to only what we witness on the floor, and avoid any personal attacks towards Kenny.

I don't think you're going to find too many people who can admit they are wrong. Anywhere. About anything.

And I especially don't think we can expect people to not only admit they are wrong, but then pony up cash to pay for whatever we want 'em to pay for.

But I won't pretend to know any of these people personally, I have no clue what happens end of season. Let's all live long enough to find out.

Cool Kenny really duped all of them. Didn’t know Jack sh#+ but played it off like he did for the big payday.

If there's a silver lining in this cloud, it's that we are SO bad, none of Payne's supporters can reasonably argue they were right about hiring him--eventually...

There is no way he can turn this around let’s get this settled now and start new with a qualified coach. The excuse was he couldn’t get top recruits because we had the long select arm of the NCAA hanging over us. Now the other coaches are going to tell recruits you don’t want to go there because KP can’t coach it is a dumpster fire.

I guess I’m just a little more patient than that…. He’s got 23 games left in this season to demonstrate that the process is working. So far, he hasn’t proven anything.

If he continues to fail to to show any progress with this team or on the recruiting trail, then perhaps at that point it will be time for Heird to look for a $10 million donation to the athletic department, And to have a serious discussion with a certain recently retired coach to see how much he misses coaching.

And yet, these same imbeciles now want to blame the players and the fans for this disaster. If I hear one more time that the players that left are far better than the players we got in I‘m gonna puke! We have four star + players on this team and we’re winless. 93.9 hosts (Maybin and Valano) quit lying to the listeners. You wanted KP, now you have him. He’s the one in charge. Quit blaming others. You’ve lost all credibility.

Yeah right up there with a pay raise and $14 million dollar buyout for Bobby Petrino who was damaged goods that nobody was coming for anyway...
That buyout had nothing to do with Petrino's marketability and potential job opportunities. Fun to watch people make that mistake over and over and over...

Well it least BP was a proven coach. I’m sure you were like a kid at Christmas when TJ brought him back.
Not really and not the point.. Like I said he was damaged goods after his motorcycle wreck (wink wink) at Arky and NOBODY was coming for him. Why put in a $14 million dollar buyout along with a raise and extension. Not some of TJ's best work..

Like I said, over and over.

But let me help... If someone had been "coming after" Petrino, he would NOT have been owed a $14 million buyout. So your effort to relate the two in criticism of that buyout is totally offbase.

Hopefully, you understand that now. To keep saying it over and over means you (and others) don't understand...

No, but we sure had to pay him $14 million that's my point, so what's your point ?

Your criticism of Jurich based on no one "coming after" Petrino is nonsense. It just sounds good. That buyout had nothing to do with that situation.

AND I'll add that we didn't HAVE to pay it. Tyra CHOSE to pay it.

If you're gonna hate, hate the right people and for the right reason...
