Your criticism of Jurich based on no one "coming after" Petrino is nonsense. It just sounds good. That buyout had nothing to do with that situation.

AND I'll add that we didn't HAVE to pay it. Tyra CHOSE to pay it.

If you're gonna hate, hate the right people and for the right reason...

You make no sense.
The old Zipp is back 🙄

Did or did Jurich not put it in the contract for thief ?
The thief would have sued and been succesful.

Had the thief, coached and recruited like he was supposed to, he'd still be here.

The blame properly was awarded to Jurich for the balloon golden retirement package he included in the thiefs' contract.

Stop bashing Jurich! He has done more for Louisville sports since Denny.

We were blessed once by UC taking a problem off our hands. Don’t see it happening again by any other school. No one was trying to hire KP when we took him and obviously no one wants him now. Yep, we’re screwed!

Pitino got none of his buyout, and Mack only got a fraction of his. Let someone sue.

And you apparently don't understand what Petrino's buyout pertained to either. $14 million is if we fired him, not him taking another job...

So it was a golden parachute
The thief was done coaching here, so instead of being a Man and resign, he sabotaged the program and received 14 mill.

Nowhere in his contract was incentives or "de-incentives" for not properly doing his job.

I was correct when i said the liar petrino AKA the thief shouldnt have been rehired.

Conditions changed dramatically between the time TJ negotiated the EA with CBP, and the time when VT assumed responsibility.

My personal read, knowing TJ’s historical performance as AD and his relationship with CBP …….. the situation would have never evolved so negatively had TJ remained as AD.

Admittedly this exchange cannot “put Humpty Dumpty back together again”, but it is foolish to blame Jurich for events that UL deprived hI’m of being able to address. Postel, Grissom and Schnatter took the UL Board of Trustees and this University down a destructive path that is responsible for where we are right now.

I am not going to go back and argue a defense of everything that Pitino did while he was here at UL, but both he and TJ were denied a fair hearing after the FBI released Its report.

It took well over a year before it was becoming evident that neither one were guilty of what the FBI Report intimated. By then the damage was already done, and those who supported the terminations at that time, are complicit with the resulting consequences that we are experiencing now. All that Tom had requested, was time to investigate the situation before any action was initiated.

Nice try.
It works both ways, the buyout is there to deter people from coming after him or them having to paying us a nice chunk to take him off our hands . In turn, if we just decide to fire him, (like we did) we have to pay him the $14 mil.

Either way it was dumb for us to put a buyout clause in his contract to pay that kind of money if we had to fire him. It wasn't in his initial contract, so why put it in ?

You need to stop proving you don't know what you're talking about...

Petrino didn't have a single buyout that "worked both ways." There was the buyout you keep mistakenly referring to for firing without cause, and another buyout if he voluntarily went somewhere else. In fact, that's the way most coaching contracts are structured, i.e., two different buyouts.

For a few of you guys who always wanna come at me... Take your time and read some of the subject matter that I do. Otherwise, you're putting me at an even larger advantage in these debates that I don't need...

You two playing uninformed tag team doesn’t change the facts…

You don’t understand contract buyouts, yet you’ll start a cause-and-effect debate to try to make a point about the wisdom of a buyout or the amount.

Try to hate without misusing facts that you don’t understand. Just focus on the hate…

Not sure how anyone can blame TJ for the events that took place after he was fired without cause and without a reasonable due process.

There are always more questions than answers, but any reasonable and objective observer will concede the “rush to judgement” that was orchestrated by Grissom and Schnatter, resulted in duping Postel and the Board of Trustees down a destructive path, one where we are still experiencing the consequences.
