The Louisville's women's basketball program received good recruiting news Thursday without actually earning a new commitment.

ESPN boosted the rating for 6-foot-4 post player Kyle Shook, the Cardinals' first class of 2016 commitment, from four stars to five
and in the process featured her on its website.

"She consistently gets 20 to 30 percent better every year," Robert Sanchez, Shook's New Mexico Heat Elite club coach, told ESPN.com. "Where's her ceiling? I haven't seen it yet. That's what's so exciting about Kylee Shook."

Shook is now ranked the No. 18 overall player in ESPN's Top 100, joining fellow U of L commits Sydney Zambrotta (five stars, No. 29) and Jazmine Jones (four stars, No. 55).

The point guard Zambrotta added her pledge in August and Jones, a wing, earlier this month.

"Zambrotta, who leaps from 58 to 29, brings a left-handed game to the backcourt and a dose of New York City swagger,"
wrote ESPN's Dan Olson. "Did we mention she's a scoring machine? Her game is infectious to her teammates, who feed off her toughness."

ESPN doesn't list coach Jeff Walz's fourth verbal commitment from a current senior. The same day as Jones, then a 5-star prospect, pledged following a visit to campus, so too did under-the-radar forward Bionca Dunham out of Philadelphia.

Walz also hauled in the nation's best 2015 recruiting class, headed by freshman point guard Asia Durr. Where Texas forward Lauren Cox winds up -- the No. 1 2016 player has a U of L offer, and Walz coached her with USA Basketball -- could determine which class comes out on top this time around.

Along with Cox, according to ESPN.com, U of L is under consideration by three other five-star players. Walz has said he has room to take at least one more in the 2016 class.

I think the Cards are the next Uconn in the women's game. There is just too many top level recruits interested in Coach Walz's program. It's getting ridiculous when you have say no to 5 star recruits because you have no more room. Unlike the men's game, these ladies stick around for four years and when they're rated 5 star, there's little to no busts.

Have to give credit to Walz of course but I think most of it should go to Shoni. The way she plays the game and the freedom she had here has all these players anxious to wear the red and black. I predict before 2020, the Cards will have won at least one title and maybe more. Uconn will be the only obstacle as usual.
