21 Straight Weeks Ranked

And we've lost 4 out of our last 7 now. Did we really even earn it? I suppose we went 7-1 in a top 3 conference last year with our only conference loss being to the National champion. I also suppose we are on pace to have a similar season. Here's hoping for 11-1 or 10-2.
The fanbase is spoiled. We fail to realize how difficult it is the stay in the top 25 in college football. Louisville doesn't have a great recruiting base yet they how found a way to be in the top 25. Despite losing players to the NFL they continue to be a top 25 program. Despite their past conference affiliations they have still managed to stay in the top 25. All the coaching changes over the years.
Being in the top 25 for that long is a real accomplishment. It will only get harder and harder to stay there.

There was only 6 teams that have done that..... OSU, Bama, Clemson, Michigan, Washington and our Louisville. It's nice to be among this group. I love Kelley Dickey and his stats.
Just to put this in perspective, there are 16 weeks in a college football season.
We've been consecutively ranked 21 straight weeks, which includes the end of the prior two seasons and continues into this year.
We were not ranked in 2015 until the very last week when we beat T A&M in the bowl game so CardX is basically correct. Started the season 0-3.
Well since there were no games played after the poll was released.. didn't know that one day being ranked = a season?
I said "the end of the prior two seasons". Th end would indicate the final poll of the season.
Anyways if you want to disparage that streak so be it but there are about 90% of schools that would like to be in that space.
Look go back and see that you corrected CardX who was essentially correct except for really a final poll after the season was completed and your post implies two seasons and a quarter, which is wrong, sorry.
I didn't imply anything. I said 21 weeks which is a straight fact. I said that included in those 21 weeks are 2 end of the year polls.
Going to have to sharpen our play soon to keep that streak going. With BC and Syracuse at PJCS we should handle them but.....
We all know that at NC State is going to be a steep challenge but a pissed FSU on the road is going to be a tough along with a much improved Virginia team, @ Wake (no picnic) and at the Slapdicks are all capable of taking us down if we don't come to play.
Beating the last 3 won't get you much appreciation nationally unless we beat the first 2. That's the kind of thing that will show what our guys are made of IMO.

Well then you must have been overly impressed by that stat to post someone else's info or you thought that 21 weeks was longer than it really is. I will be impressed if we finished the entire season in the top 25 not a quarter.
Good lord man. Take a breath and enjoy some football. It's an interesting fact and one that puts us in pretty exclusive company. Yes I think being ranked at the end of the past two seasons as well as currently being ranked is a good thing.
This has me consumed. According to College Poll archive.com, Louisville actually had a streak of 27 being ranked in the top 25 from 2005-2007. The current streak of 21 does have us tied for 5th overall. The key word is active. Alabama is currently at 152, which is only good for 8th overall all time. Nebraska leads the way with 348, followed by FSU at 211 and Florida at 209. In terms of all time the 27 consecutive weeks being ranked in top 25 is good for #175 which is tied with several teams. The current steak of 21 currently ranks at #229 overall. However it is misleading as quite a few teams are tied. I think it really shows how far we need to go to be considered a football power.
