Louisville's defense struggled at times last year, particularly getting pressure on the quarterback. In 2020 help should be on the way. The signing of JUCO DE Yaya Diaby was a major win over the likes of Tennessee, South Carolina, Kansas State, Texas Tech, and FSU. 2019 commit Je’Darein* Boykin will also join the team in 2020 after sitting out 2019 to resolve an eligibility issue. Diaby has three years to play two Boykin has five to play four. 2019 signee Zach Edwards redshirted last season and should play a major role in the rotation alongside Tabarius Peterson and Dayna Kinnaird.
Five bodies will fill out the defensive end two deep with one to spare. That's not the type of depth you want at the position, especially considering one of those five was a former walk-on. I expect Louisville to take at least two and maybe even three defensive ends this cycle.
