The incoming frosh are going to be important for depth. Hopefully a couple of them can play with a higher basketball IQ than what we saw this year. I also want to see the kids who are coming back show improvement in the basketball IQ area. If it clicks, then the team will be a tough team to beat.

Nope. Malik is a true Center. We need him down low. And he will do wonders. He's really good.

And all of these recruits that are coming in can shoot the ball. Every single one of them can hit a 3, Malik being the most comfortable. Thomas the most questionable. But all have good looking jump shots.

Yeah so Mahmoud and Spaulding are listed at 215 and they are not strong enough. Matz is 240 and Mango at 230. Even Mitchell is listed at 200.

Not trying to bash any of our players, but if they want any real shot of playing in the league and I'm not talking the D-League every last one of them needs to come back next season.

Stating the obvious, but Anas needs to get stronger in the off season and add a mid range jumper to his arsenal. Get more aggressive and finish around the rim. I like his finesse game, but sometimes you just have to go up strong and send it in sparing no one. With his size and skill he could be a great player.

JJ and Ray see above.

VJ needs to work on his defense and overall game and come in with a mindset of challenging Adel for that starting spot.

I really like Q and do not think he was the reason for the loss against Michigan, but I think the best five if guys work hard on their games will not include Q. I think he plays a crucial role next season, but he has a long way to go in being a true floor general. He has to be more vocal next season.

Mitchell is the leader and I could see him step into the 1 spot. I really see him stepping up to a level of greatness next season. He has the potential to be great and go down as one of the best to play at UofL.

Rick said today that he only expects two of the freshman to really be of any significance to be able play and help immediately with a possible third maybe contributing on defense .

Pitino told Mitchell to not go to the combine, by go to workouts for the teams and if the moves his projection into the 13-20 then they will talk about the NBA.....but if he doesnt get into that range then he will be back.

And seemed pretty confident in that.

After watching this NCAA tourney I'm willing to give in and say that I was wrong in blaming the 5 spot for us not getting the job done. Mangok had a good tourney. Q and Donovan did not play to the level we needed them to play. So I think it's just a consistency issue, and a defensive issue. With that being said I think this team can win next year if they get their defensive intensity back and work on improving their lateral quickness if that can be done. Q had a ton of blow bys this season. He's good with the ball, and can shoot fairly well, but when he is off he's really off and the defense was suspect. I think that's why we saw hicks a lot yesterday. I think Malik is the only freshman we see a lot from next year, maybe Perry if he is quicker than Q. Nwora or Lance Thomas could provide some depth at the forward position but Jalen and Ray should get most of the PT there.

Loaded for sure. I just don't see it for him or Adel this year unless he wants to play in the D League.

All it takes is for a team or two to like what they see in them though. You never know, but I agree with you. I don't see it.
