The Louisville basketball team is headed back to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving, 2016.

According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, U of L will participate in the 2016 Battle 4 Atlantis, the same tournament the Cards played in back in 2012.

The last time the Cards played in the event, U of L knocked off Northern Iowa and Missouri before falling to Duke (without Gorgui Dieng) in the championship game. The Cards got revenge four months later when they knocked off the Blue Devils in the Elite Eight on their way to winning the national title.

The Battle 4 Atlantis is quickly becoming the pre-eminent early season tournament in college basketball, and now they have a television contract with ESPN so you won't have to find where AXS is if you want to watch the games. This is great news.

Teams participating so far:

UofL
Wichita St.
Florida Gulf Coast

Isn't there a conference limitation to who gets invited? Meaning .. no other ACC teams will be there. So, no rematch of Duke in the championship game ... if this rule is correct.

Yeah, you are correct. Only one team per conference can be in this tourney so no rematch with Duke or any other ACC opponents.

Hopefully, you get a team like Kansas, Wisconsin, Arizona, or Michigan State to join you. Right now, a pretty weak field.

That's a good field. Michigan State will always be Michigan State. LSU is getting some big time talent but got the worst head coach in the game. St. John's has a new coach in Chris Mullins and recruited some talented players this year. VCU and Wichita State lost their head coaches after last season so who knows?.

Isn't Gregg Marshall still at Wichita State?

Marshall is still @ Wichita St.

Maybe that was a Freudian slip, I could see Gregg hitting the road AFTER next year if there's an opening worth it... (IU cough cough IU cough cough) but he is back to watch his Gs take people to school.
