Remaining ACC Schedule and the NCAAT

Started looking ahead at our schedule and boy is it rough. I think we are about to go on a big run to finish this season. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to expect 11+ wins. And 11-3 would probably mean one bad loss.

Part of this makes me scared because I don’t think 10-4 (22 total wins) is a lock to get in. That would mean multiple Q2+ losses and Pitt was left out last year with a similar resume at 22 wins. We’d have to win a game in the ACC tournament to feel confident going in to selection Sunday.

I know we haven’t helped the ACC image over the last few years but some rich alumni from these “top tier” academic schools need to start spending money. This conference shouldn’t be this bad.

New Crawford column - Not broken

EC put out a very good column this morning basically calling Kenny Payne on his BS. While he calls out some of the dysfunction of leadership within the university, he does a good job to lay a lot of the last 2 years at KPs feet.

"The program wasn't broken. It was just the victim of poor management. The car was running. It just needed somebody to hit the gas, somebody who knew how to handle the horsepower."

"Kelsey would not talk about what happened to create the program he inherited. He just moved into the Marriott downtown and went to work. And pretty soon, he didn't like the trip from downtown to his campus office so, with his family having not yet moved from Charleston, he just slept in the office. He got after it. No two weeks in New York. No taking his time." <- These last lines are a banger.

I had to ask EC on X if he and Bozich were still on speaking terms after putting this one out there.

Cards Officially 2nd Highest ACC NET Team

After last night’s action, we inched ahead of Pitt/UNC/Clemson to move up to #28 in the NET Rankings. That makes us the 2nd highest ranked ACC team.

Bodes well for the stretch run for seeding. I love getting back to checking for articles, rankings and bracket projections in January again!! It’s been too long and hard to fathom with where we were in the Net Rankings a year ago at this time 😳

Does Pryor, or did he, get a Redshirt, or would he go pro anyways?

don't remember seeing this being brought up, and i guess all depends on whether they thought he could return for a tourney run, but does he gets an automatic medical redshirt, or get another year if he wants? probably rehab the deciding factor but my first thought was he'd turn pro and end up either in europe or the g-league, simply getting paid to play, but with NIL now, he may make more money staying here.

I don't think he'd hit the transfer portal and honestly, he looks like he loves it here with PK's type of offense so why go when you're settled into somehting that looks super fun. plus i've heard he's actually the glue guy in the locker room and while his demeanor on court sometimes may leave people thinking he's goofy or soemthing, i actaully love everything he does, he's like a dennis rodman/joaqim noah high motor type, he's to me a PK clone in a bigger body with better hair.

it's actually scary to think about how good this team would/could be in march if there were no injuries and i still think these tough games are just making the team get stronger in every way. it's what killed us under the old regime, we lost so many close games to start we never got the confidence boost. sometimes you just need the tiniest of things to get you over that hump.

this team has already stood toe to toe in rupp when they should have probably been blown out, already won on the road in the acc, got cocky a little vs eku but still won and i think they really are starting to feel the yum center at it's best. every game and every win the crowd will grow and talk about a recruiting tool. already working, welcome Mikal Brown Jr!

but look at how great we are playing right now, yes i said great. 99% of every team hit's scoreless spurts during a game, it's what happens after that defines greatness and you are seeing this team hold it together, keep playing hard, and winning whenn everyone pretty much thought the season was over when KP went down along with the other two being out.

your expectations dropped to a below .500 team and probably no tourney bid. you didn't even feel good after eku, but the fact is, they still won. and yesterday, they gave up the lead late, and then went on a 13-1 run i believe. the foul shooting maybe isn't great but we've got ballers who aren't afraid to be on the line late in the game. I'm talking about you Chucky!

So i'm going to go out on a limb and predicting, semifinals in ACC tourney, maybe a final shot and sweet 16 trip in the ncaa's.
