You picked last year as the final assessment of his career, the season before he was 19-15.
and thus he got better. it's called improvement. your judging him on two seasons ago and not giving him any credit for all the teams he beat last year and his team getting better. byu is a sh$thole and no one goes there and he still beat top 20 teams on the road. . i mean come on, facts can say anything and last years facts says he improved mightily as a coach.WTF do you want from a coach? isn't that what you want from a coach, to improve, i mean wtf? pitino went 18-14 one year then won a title but he must absolutely suck because he went 18-14. truly moronic to judge him by a 19-15 record two years and not a 21-9 record last year where he beat tough teams on the road. argue better cause yours is truly lacking

beg to differ claudia schiffer! last year BYU went 21-9. beat bellarmine, won on the road at UCF, WVU and at #7 Kansas, beat #11 baylor at home, and lost by less than 10 points on the road to #4 houston, #6 iowa state, #14 baylor and #24 texas tech. so what do you think he's going to do with better players? he's proven he can coach on the road in tough environments. isn't that the definiton of a coach you'd want to hire? and isn't hte Big 12 jsut as tough as the SEC? i doubt pope will lose more than 10 games very often

Resume' check.

I thought the elimination mentality would work well the last 2 weeks or so and it fell short @Vandy and NC. Jury still out after taking 3 against an overmatched ND squad.

There are 3-4 guys getting really hot at the plate...will we get some outstanding individual performances on the bump?
Not sure how strongly Mac pushes that message. The situation was more dire last year, then the whole squad acted shocked when they didn't make the tournament. I recall Mac's disbelief.

Hopefully, they understand things a little more clearly.

Nice contribution Hi-Stepper, good points. I trust that you did not interpret my reference to CBR as one who side-stepped any rules, or took advantage of the system; as that would be furthest from the truth. Male’s Traditional School status would definitely qualify as academically advantaged, but it was also a significant advantage to attracting some of the very best football talent in Jefferson Co; evidenced by the number of Lobos who played in Hikes Point Youth Football, despite living outside the geographical boundaries, only to end up at Male HS.

Schools who won or competed for State Championships prior to budding (Valley lost to St X with Moorman and Lyons 7-6), or Butler, TJ, Seneca are examples of schools and communities that were victims of bussing.
My response was not about any rules violation but rather about busing being the reason for the decline of talent in Jefferson county. When the city schools integrated, Black athletes as well as white ones rode the city bus to Male, Manual, Shawnee and other schools because many did not live in those school's neighborhood and it was your responsiblity to get to school and not the Board's. Then mandatory busing hit and the school board provided the transportation. Since busing, neighborhoods have changed and many of the organizations like Cabbage Patch, Red Shields Boys Club, the Presbyterian Community Center, Baxter Center and Optimist Clubs where many kids honed their skills against older and better competition to be able to play are now gone. The city park system has disappeared and was a place where many athletes developed their skills. Today development is mostly on an AAU, Club or Camp level. I think this is the reason for the ebb in talent in jefferson county and not busing . It takes money and parent time to participate at these levels.
