This isn’t a shot at the players they are taking advantage of market. Most have a small window to get theirs. Zero problem with the players.

My issue is with the coaching staff’s that are overing pay for players just because they can. It is very similar to when the Browns overpaid Watson. It messed up the entire QB market. When Michigan or Texas pay 8M for a QB it has trickle down effect.

Now I am not naive I know coaches/boosters can’t help themselves. It is what it is.

There is zero chance I pay the Branch their asking price nothing production wise says there is value. I can be sold on the Robinson because he has production to support that kind of pay day. I think the Purdue TE has move value.

We not only have to clean up our servers but also our sets. There were several sets that were to low causing our players to hit into the net.

Now that you mention it, but not that it matters. Didn’t Brian get the same treatment? I know he got a lot of series @QB his freshman season even though Leflors was playing as well as any QB in the country that season!

Should have beaten them at Pitt. Unforced errors - bad serves, service return errors, mis-hits, etc. Limit those self-inflicted wounds and they can win. With that being said, Pitt is REALLY, REALLY great. They are HUGE and they have, who I believe, is the best player in the country.

L-Yes we can beat Pitt! In any sport, and level. It is extremely difficult to sweep of 3 games between two closely matched Teams. Cards have the last game in a 3-game set playing at home! That is a recipe for the Cards to salvage in that 3rd game. Cards will have a crowd advantage, and the benefit of understanding how Pitt beat them in the first two games. Pitt not going to change anything, do what they did in the first 2. Cards need to adjust, change what they have been doing with Pitt earlier. Come out in the First Set, with an adjustment, and win that crucial First set. It's going to be a battle for sure. With the prize a berth in the Championship Game! Go Cards, they win the match 3 to 2!!

Every athlete is allowed to hire professionals to help with marketing, legal issues, tax laws and other business dealings associated with NIL. You would think universities and AD's are aware of this.

I’m surprised at CJB still being able to recruit HS QBs.

Yeah, he puts QBs in the league, but you gotta play to get there. Who is the last HS recruit QB to get significant clock?

OTOH, you play a young guy, and if he’s good, he bids himself out.

How do you wrap your arms around it, and dedicate large amounts of money and time to it anymore?

The only point I’ll concede on this is that coaches abused the system for years. Nick Saban was the highest-paid state employee in Alabama, for Pete’s sake. But the system as it is is broken. There is zero consideration of academics, no loyalty to a school (heck, most employees have a certain loyalty to their employers), no binding contracts (at least coaches have those). The system could be improved over what we had before and what we have now with a system of direct payments to players such that every player got paid, with standardized incentives around performance and hitting academic targets. There would be a universal salary cap so that richer schools couldn’t just “buy” teams at the expense of poorer ones, and contracts that would require a player to pay back some of the money if he transfers.

My expectation would be that Harrison Bailey will get the start. Likely that Deuce Adams will get a series at some point, depending on game situation.
