30 games completed yesterday. The only games that did not were in Greenville, NC. ECU’s regional had their first game suspended in the 9th with Campbell leading NC State 5-4. ECU’s game was postponed to today as well.

By my count, the 1 seeds went 14-1, with Oregon State the only 1 seed to get bumped into the loser’s bracket. The 3 seeds appeared to have similar success, going 12-3 against the 2-seeds.

The Louisville regional contributed to that trend, as Louisville won and the 2-seed Indiana fell to the loser’s bracket.

Campbell completes the 3-seed dominance by beating 2-seed NC State 5-4 in the Greenville, NC, regional. That means the 3-seeds were 13-3 against the 2-seeds on opening day.

Now it will be very interesting to see those 13 3 seeds match up against the 1-seeds. The 3-seeds will get the last at bats in all of those 1 versus 3 matchups (for example, the Cards are the road team against Illinois State today).

Louisville got beat by a 3 seed. Baseball is quirky but Louisville offensively is a train wreck right now. They got lucky yesterday and were flat awful today. The just got handled by a guy that would have a hard time beating some high school teams. A guy with 5.11 era against non power 5 teams just had a complete game. That is unheard in in today's game.

This team is a mental mess right now on offense.

They’ve been in the gutter offensively for close to a month now.

A bunch of one seeds went down yesterday. Oregon State became the first one seed to be eliminated. And in addition to us, ECU, Georgia, WVU, Stanford, and UCLA all got knocked into the loser’s bracket.

ECU became just the second one seed to lose to a 4-seed. They play NC State in an elimination game today.

So Nick and Reid were both phenomenal. Today, Dan does the one thing I have ever really complained about - leaving his starting pitcher in too damn long. Again, today, Bobby got tired. We could all see it. It cost is at least 2 runs. Very poor decision.

That was unbelievable.
Any of you guys there at the end? It looked like Indiana players and coaches went redneck after the last out.

And who was that banshee IU fan (redneck) woman screaming Woooooooooooooooo after every pitch?

Not having a good feeling about this game as it gets underway. ISU looks ready.

Let’s go, Cards!

It wasn’t the coaches. It was all about the umpire which almost escalated the two teams. Emotions were high as expected and the game shouldn’t come down to a play decided by the ump. He should have ignored whatever Mcavene said or did.

WVU is the second one seed to be eliminated (along with Oregon State).

I was there and they are giving the blue necks a run for their money...

The red hot UNC Tar Heels win their regional in 3 games, becoming the second team to advance (and the second ACC team).

If you watch the replay on tv, it seemed delayed. I wonder if the ump didn’t here a “you suck” from a fan or something, thinking it was McAvene.

Either way, you’re right, that was something that should have passed with a warning at most after McAvene said “that’s horrible”.

Great day. Just sucks that McAvene got a 4 game suspension on a BS call.

Maybe we can appeal and get it lowered but if not, he would miss the first two games of a potential Super Regional if we are to advance tomorrow.

Effin 1 oclock tomorrow. Ok guys ,get out there and get my back. Missed 1 game all year, but I can't get out of work. %#%^^&$

Stay tuned to social media....there's a chance the time for our game on Monday will be moved to later in the day. It's all based on wins and losses tonight in the other games.

So maybe you will get lucky earsky!

Overall #8 seed Texas Tech wins its regional in 3 games to advance to the Super Regional. Duke (the 3rd seed in WVU’s regional) also advanced to next week. So far, that’s 3 ACC teams advancing to the Supers, including 2 that were 3-seeds in their regions.

Auburn advances in three games, knocking out overall #3 seed Georgia Tech in the process.

Again, thanks NCAA. How they can get away with such bias is unbelievable. The host team who requested the 6:00 slot and they don’t go with this? What the NCAA did was negate our home field advantage. Such BS.

Unfortunately there is no appeal. I think they will look at this rule and eventually change it. It’s meant to punish the starting pitcher not a reliever. 4 games is excessive for “that’s horrible!!”

5 more SEC teams join Auburn in the Super Regionals next week: Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and the overall #2 seed Vanderbilt.

Like us, #1 overall seed UCLA and Stanford won twice yesterday to make it out of the loser’s bracket and force deciding games in their regionals today. Also, Creighton versus Michigan will decide the Corvallis Regional, and Oklahoma State versus UConn will decide the Oklahoma City regional.

Campbell needs one of two wins today to take ECU’s regional, while ECU must win both games to advance.

Televisión. ESPN2 is broadcasting this game instead of ESPN3.

Cards win!!!

ECU is leading Campbell 9-3 in the 6th inning. If the Pirates hold on, they will force a deciding game tonight at 7pm. The winner of that series will be our opponent in the Super Regionals in Louisville next weekend.

Overall #9 seed Oklahoma State knocks off UConn to become team #12 to advance to the Super Regionals. They will get the overall #8 seed, Texas Tech.

Overall #10 seed ECU knocks off Campbell twice today to advance to the Louisville Super Regional.

UCLA, Stanford, and Michigan won late last night to finish out the 16 team super regional brackets. We ended up with 12 one seeds, 1 2-seed (Auburn) and 3 3-seeds (Michigan, Duke and FSU).

The SEC ended up with 6 of the 16, followed by the ACC with 4. The Big 12 and PAC 12 had 2 each, with Michigan of the Big Ten and ECU of the AAC being the lone representatives from their conferences.

The SEC and Big 12 are guaranteed to get at least one representative in the College World Series, due to the matchups of Arkansas versus Ole Miss and Texas Tech versus Oklahoma State.

Three of the Super Regional pairings have the SEC versus the ACC: Auburn at UNC, Duke at Vanderbilt and FSU at LSU.
