B+ was my choice as well.B+
Stanford game sucked. But we got Clemson and UK albatrosses off our neck. We will win ACC next year.
Give the credit to CardX. I just happened to agree with him for the same reasons. I toyed with the idea of a solid B but there were too many missed opportunities.I agree with Booneco_card I’m still upset about that Stanford game. We need to beat them by 50 next time we play just for me to get over it 😡
Totally agree with your sliding scale. IMO, if the Stanford loss hadn't of happened the likelihood of the final 3 game closeout ending in the fashion it did....that would'nt have happened either. In this environment where the margin for error is very small plus limited budget to win 9-10 games is incredible. I have a sliding scale.
A+ make the playoff.
A 10 win season ACC title game.
A- 9 win
B-8 wins
It is so hard to win. To win 9-10 games at Louisville is awesome.
If Brohm had a 15m NIL budget could he dominate the ACC?
It was UW, not WSU, but otherwise I agree. However, the Notre Dame and Miami were winnable games, while there is no excuse for blowing a fourth quarter lead at Stamford and losing. This could have been a playoff team, with just a little stouter defense. I give them a solid B.A+ and here is why; Notre Dame lost at home to unranked NIU, but is only two wins away from a NC, so if they can be excused for losing to NIU, I can excuse the loss to Stanford despite the disappointment and the manner in which we lost.
Losing to SMU was no fluke; they were as good as anybody in America when playing anywhere other than frigid PSU. the loss to ND in South Bend; see above.
We beat both Clemson and UK in Death Valley and Kroger Field respectively and did it rather convincingly ...........I do not need to say anymore. The win over WSU in a Bowl Game without 23 players, and after one of the worst pass interference calls in all of college football is worthy of praise.
Riley didn't get hurt returning a punt against Ga Tech; he got hurt on that spectacular play on the RPO that Puryear recovered for a TD. It only looked like because he did return a punt later in the game and it was his last rep until the Miami game. But you are right in saying the timing of Riley's injury severely hamstrung the season because it came in the fateful four game ND, SMU, UVa and Miami stretch where we went 1-3 and doomed our Conference title chances. It also coincided with Thornton playing with an oven mitt until late in the season.I want to grade season as an A-, but early season poor decisions put outcome in a "cast". Having Riley return points and kickoffs was fools gold. The ankle injury he incurred severely restricted his abilities, and hurt his grades by NFL scouts. He never recovered from it. The other questionable decision was Ron English. It got to the point(again) that Jeff had to get more involved. He did so the year prior. English is easy to scout and any changes he makes are well known.
