Who leaves ?

That is a joke people need to do their homework if they think Nwora is an NBA player at this moment. He would get eaten up and spit out right now. I guess he could go and try it and then when he doesn't make it he could become a high school coach somewhere.

I can't believe people on here are talking about Nwora as if he is good enough for the NBA right now. That is a joke he could go to Europe and play but not the NBA. He has too much ground to cover before he can even think about it.
We've had players who were bigger stronger and better all around and they struggled to make it in the NBA. If that is Nwora's dream than he better come back and bust his butt and prove he has what it takes to play in the NBA.

Honestly if he went to Europe he probably wouldn't be playing in the top leagues there. There are legit players over there that have played together for years and he'd probably have to play at a lower level.

He can look at the NBA and believe he is the next Donovan Mitchell. Others, such as Hopgood and I, remember Jaylen and Onuaku and see where they are now.

I agree that he played against Minnesota like the decision was already made. We will see what we will see.

He seemed to play earlier in the year with some passion. Something seemed to change, but I got to admit that's all speculation and hell I could be 100% wrong.

These guys do have real problems off the court, but you hear many say playing basketball is their escape.

Really the entire team seemed to lose their balls after the Duke collapse.

The only one that showed much fire was Perry, even if at times it was a bit misguided.

One thing we all need to remember - he did not sign on to play for Mack. No, he didn't transfer, he would have had options - but with that he loses a year of basketball age, and sitting is hard to do.

I'm hoping he returns, and improves in the areas he is clearly lacking.

I hope I'm wrong and that Nwora comes back, both to help himself by shoring up his overall game and to help the team, but I think he will probably leave. Right now he is the ACC's Most Improved Player for the year and that might carry a little positive buzz for him. If he comes back, it is doubtful he could improve by that much again in his junior year. Again, I'm not saying he shouldn't come back.

Those saying they think he is leaving are not necessarily saying it will be for the NBA, and even more are probably not thinking he will be the next Donovan Mitchell. If he leaves and gets drafted, he will likely spend a lot of time in the D-League like most rookies but he will still be getting paid to play basketball. Maybe that is what he wants, and maybe that would be good enough for him right now. Playing in Europe professionally might be preferable to Nwora than coming back to college. We don't know his mind.

But like others mentioned, a low likelihood of being drafted hasn't stopped some UofL players from leaving anyway- Johnson, Jennings, etc. What Nwora should definitely do is test the waters and get some professional feedback and see what they say. Remember, Mitchell was all set to come back his junior year until he got feedback saying he was ready. He ended up getting drafted higher than most thought he would and it was definitely the right decision for him.

Nwora's dad is a high school coach, knows his stuff.and has made some pretty sound statements in the past about his son's future. If Jordan listens to Dad I think we will like the outcome.

IMO I personally feel that everybody comes back besides grad transfers obviously. King and McMahon have already said they can’t wait to get back. Darius’ starting pg spot is his to lose after how impressive he was playing at the end of the year. Sutton is a Louisville kid, he won’t leave. For Jordan I feel as if he does test the waters they will tell him either way he needs another year. Weak defensively, can’t handle the rock well enough which is why he struggles to consistently get in the lane. If Jordan goes it will be a mistake where next year he could be a much higher draft pick with another year under Chris Mack. No matter what I’m very excited for next season. Go Cards!!!

Guess it depends on your definition of quality. We got a bunch of 4 stars coming in and a 5 star. Is that quality depth? Yet to be determined IMO because we don't know who is coming back just yet to go with those 6 guys coming in. We lose 3 for sure (4 counting Will Rainey). Add 6. That tells me the bench is going to be deeper UNLESS 2 or more leave.
Too many of the current class are gonna have to play leading roles for it to qualify as "depth". They're also going to be freshmen, and they're not individually rated high enough for 4-5 to make significant contributions.

If we experience the attrition I expect, next year's team won't have anymore talent than this year's team. I just hope it has better chemistry...

I'd also like to ask--for discussion purposes--how many of these guys who are undecided play like they can't wait to get back to school and bust their a$$es so that they're better pro prospects next year?

Maybe some of you were watching a different team than I was. And it bears mentioning that they just lost in uninspired fashion in the first round of the tourney that they SAY they come to college to compete in. In many cases, that tourney is supposedly the ONLY reason...

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I know which side of this fence I'm on and you've made it pretty clear what side of the fence you prefer. Good for you. It's always a good thing to be honest with yourself.

In the meantime, I found a new page for you to worship. They're champions!

His dad is the head coach at Erie Community College and has been since 1999.

Many people here are clueless as far as assuming where I stand on issues. It helps them sleep at night which--for them--is a good thing...

Don't have to....you know it is true and that grits at you doesn't it? Your lack of self awareness it astounding.
Just character assassination is all you got? I thought you were better than that...

It works for you....so why not others?

And you have to have character for it to be assassinated don't you?

Your thoughts about me are not germane to this thread....but lame try.
I don't have any thoughts about you except surprise. I thought you could make substantive comments on point and support your arguments.

Sometimes I give people more credit than they deserve...Shame on me.

Let’s pop this back up to page 1 to see what was said back a few months ago about the team, Nwora, Enoch, etc...

Ryan and Sutton could both be grad transfers. King too, but only if he’s on pace to graduate this summer.

I agree about Enoch and Nwora. Enoch is physically ready to play at the next level and will probably be a 2nd round pick and end up in the G League to develop his game further next year while earning a paycheck. Nwora has a decent chance to be a first round pick, so I expect him to go as well.

I don’t see Perry going somewhere and sitting for a year. I think he stays at least until he graduates after his junior season.

Right now, I will take the conservative line and say that we return Sutton, McMahon, King as seniors, Williams and Perry as juniors, to go with our 6 man freshman class.

In that case I could see us adding one more center prospect (Jason Jitoboh?) and maybe another grad transfer guard.

Well, I got the grad transfer guard, McMahon, Perry, and Sutton right. Completely whiffed on King, Nwora, and Enoch. Glad to be wrong on those guys!

All a guy like Nwora has to hear is that the NBA will give him a look. And the guy played like he had already made his decision...

"...If he were to declare for the 2019 draft, he would likely end up as a mid-late second round pick, but could possibly go undrafted."

"Projection: late first to early second round pick in the 2019 or 2020 NBA Draft"
