Stamp first ticket to playoff.Solid performance. Not sure I'd want to play against Peterson.

Washington dominated and deserves to be in the Playoff.

On a side note and good news for Lamar Jackson's Heisman: One of the other players likely to be invited to New York, Washington QB Jake Browning finished the game 9 for 24 and 118 yards. Baker Mayfield and Desean Watson up next.

If they get in it'll be terrible. Why wouldn't every team in America schedule all OOC ducks and then just try to win a conference championship? They played Portland State. My cousin went there and that's almost worse than playing Morehead State in football here in Kentucky.

Not exactly.

By most accounts Alabama and Ohio State had already punched their tickets well before UW. According to Heather Dinish this afternoon on ESPN radio gameday, UW is still not a lock. It depends on what happens in Indy tonight. As noted previously, the committee is very unsettled due to their OOC schedule.

On a side note, Alabama's demolition of Florida (with Alabama not playing particularly well to boot) may end up benefiting UL as it may knock down FSU's perceived strength. UL could end up overtaking FSU in the rankings. Not predicting it. Just noting the possibility. If it happens, you're welcome.

Absolutely correct on the Bama demolition of Florida could help UofL...only if Clemson wins tonight

Interesting take on Bama. To my eye this year, they have not been what I would call a vintage Alabama team, except on defense where they are outstanding. Still, IMO they are clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the field. Struggling offense at times and a weaker than normal SEC raise questions in my mind if the defense doesn't continue to force turnovers in the playoffs. S--t happens in a one game scenario. Your thoughts, please.

Defense probably played its worst game of the year yesterday and still held Florida to zero rushing yards and it tied Florida as a team 16-16. If Florida had any talent on offense they would have scored a lot more.

The offense has two major problems. The first is they can't keep the o-line healthy. I have lost track of how many different starting lineups there have been. The second is Hurts is still learning. He missed six reads yesterday that I saw. He probably missed more. Still they put up 38 on a pretty good defense.

It is hard to read how much the SEC being down this year influences the perception of Bama. Maybe they are not as good as they look. But I thought after week two or three that this is probably the best defense Saban has had at UA. Over the course of the season, the stats have suggested that impression was correct. If it is correct - if they really are as good as I and just about everyone else seems to think - then the next two games will look exactly like the last two or three. It won't be close. We'll see.
