Who will play in the Sun Bowl against Washington?

What is everyone's opinion?

I think Shough will play and after that I don't really know. If the freshman backs are not entertaining the portal, they will probably play.

I think all who expect to be drafted probably won't play.

I would love to see Shough play, I understand if Brooks does not play but if he doesn't, I say we feature Bell and the TEs.I don't think the WR position is going to be as deep as last year's so I would like to see Brooks play and put on a show to improve his draft stock.

I would allow any upperclassmen who wanted to participate to play, and then I would play every young player I had. These bowls are glorified scrimmages.

I agree. If we can't hold onto freshmen who got to play full time in their first year of college, what's the point recruiting them? May as well go with just transfers from year to year until this madness ends.

I'm torn about Shough playing. What he does in a bowl game won't change my opinion of him. I won't say it's a meaningless game because Brohm needs to know if he's got next year's QB on staff or who is the backup in case a portal QB turns out not to be the answer or gets hurt. Brohm has been either lucky or really good with his QB decisions the last 2 seasons. Yes, I want to beat Washington and I want to reward the accomplishments of this year's team but with the CFP we need to establish ourselves at the top of the ACC year in year out. I want to see what we have on the OL and DL for next year.

I haven’t heard (although I am no longer even close to a sports junkie) any talking heads saying anything about him when discussing this draft. I’m sure if this isn’t true I will be quickly enlightened 😆)

His stock can only go up IMO

That said, if his studs don’t play it will be hard for his stock to go up 🤔

That would be a mistake in my opinion. He's no sure thing draft pick and he could use the bowl game to change that. The guy has missed so many college games in his career, he needs all the exposure he can get.

And he should want to play the bowl game. This is it for his college career and he has to feel its been a disappointment due to all the games he has missed. Winning a bowl game would be something I think he would like to achieve.

Well, when it comes to skill players, he should be fine. Bell, Huggins-Bruce and Hicks should be available if they don't enter the portal, and the freshman backs if they're coming back. Of course if everyone transfers then yeah, he probably wouldn't play.

I think most of the OL who has eligibility remaining, would play but again I don't know for sure.

I can't believe we're going to have all opt outs and transfers with this bowl game, but it could happen I suppose. As it is now, I think Shough will play unless Brohm wants to play Clarkson? It is interesting that the valued recruit hasn't entered the portal yet.

He's what, a 5th year senior? He's not going to show them in one game anything different than what they already know and that he's talented. What he might do is earn a private tryout or invitation to some pro tryouts, but I think he's either done that or he hasn't. For Tyler, its more about maybe playing in front of family and friends who haven't had the opportunity to see him play this year. Yes, he wants to win the bowl game of course, he's a competitor.

As a fan that religiously follows the team and buys season tix, it matters to me to win bowl games. It's the only reward for playing the season. If they can play the last game of the year, which other than it being the slapdicks meant nothing. They should play in a bowl.. JMO
