Louisville Volleyball concludes the regular season with a four set win over Notre Dame in the LNFCU Friday Night

24-26, 25-13, 25-23, 25-13 were the set totals.

Set 1
The Cards fell behind 6-4 early, but put together a four-point scoring run, getting back-to-back kills from Anna Stevenson, to send the Cards an 8-6 lead and necessitate Notre Dame to call an early timeout. Itpaid off as they took the first point out of the break to halt the Cards run and worked to eventually regain the lead at 15-13. Dani Busboom Kelly called her first timeout of the set after Notre Dame pushed the lead to three at 18-15. UofL rallied for a 3-0 run to climb back within one at 19-18 before stringing together a four-point run, highlighted by a big block and kill from Aiko Jones, to battle all the way back for a late 23-21. The Irish took their final timeout of the set. And, UND took advantage of the break, going on a 3-0 run of their own to take 24-23 lead. UofL called their final timeout of the set and was able to take the first point following the timeout, but Notre Dame would go on to win the set 26-24.

Set 2
The Cards came out on fire in the second set, grabbing a quick 5-1 lead. Notre Dame used their first time out of the set. UofL kept applying the pressure, getting three of the first four points following the timeout to extend its lead to 8-2. The two teams traded points as Notre Dame got back within five at 10-5, but UofL went on to score the next two points before the Irish called their final timeout of the set...down 12-5. The Irish fought back to with two points to get back within seven, but Louisville answered with a 3-0 run to go up 10 at 18-8. Louisville continued to push the pace, turning in a five-point scoring run to extend the lead to 22-9 before finally taking the second set 25-13.

Set3
The Cards kept their momentum after the break, going on a 5-0 scoring run to take an early 6-2 lead. Notre Dame answered with a four-point run of its own to tie it up at 6-6 before using a 3-1 run to take a 9-7 lead. The set went back-and-forth from there as the visitors from South Bend kept a narrow lead before going on another 3-0 run to take a four-point lead at 15-11 heading into the media timeout. UofL took advantage of the break, scoring three of the first four points to get back within two at 16-14. But, Notre Dame fired back with a 3-1 run to extend its lead back to 19-15. Louisville took its first timeout of the set. The Cards used the break to their advantage, taking two of the first three points to close the gap to 20-17 as the Fighting Irish called their first timeout of the set. UofL continued to fight, going on a 3-1 run to tie the set at 21-21 and force Notre Dame to use its final timeout. The Cardinals scored the first two points following the timeout to cap off a five-point run to take a late 23-21 lead before finally taking the set 25-23.

Set 4
This one was all Cards. UofL put together four straight points to gain an early 5-1 lead. Notre Dame scratched back two points before UofL took two more to extend their lead to 7-2 and force the visitors to take a timeout. The Irish scored three of the first five points following the timeout to get back within four at 9-5, but the Cards would answer by taking five of the next seven to extend its lead to seven at 14-7. It was timeout time again for Notre Dame. Louisville came out of the break on the attack, scoring three straight points to build the lead to 11 at 18-7. The Cardinals continued to dominate the set as the teams traded points back-and-forth with Louisville eventually winning the set 25-13

The Cardinals will find out their tournament draw on Sunday night, Nov. 28th, for the reveal of the 64-team field during the NCAA selection show at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU
