what are your keys to the game? also, score prediction?

I'll go with Cards win 65-64

You've gotta make the game helter skelter against Virginia. They defend any kind of ball screen better than anybody. I think you have to spread the floor and let your best ball handlers and scorers either beat them off the dribble to force help situations or just shoot over the top of them. You don't want to get into a situation where you are messing around with the ball and using up the whole shot clock because then you end up having to shoot a hasty shot with the shot clock running down.

When they come to hedge, someone has to be open. Ball movement is the key. It also wouldn't kill us to run a backdoor cut if they are overplaying the wing.
I agree but they over play the passing lanes too which continues to muck things up. A couple of back door plays going strong to the rim is essential. We can NOT missing any bunnies. Got to finish at the rim tomorrow night.

Agree with most of what's already been said about the screen and roll and high ball screen. Leave it out of the game plan. UVA hedges so high and hard on it.

I think you have to attack them off the bounce and use good ball movement. Pound it inside and attack/drive them. It would be nice to get more easy ones out of transition as well.

I know UVA is coming off of a loss and they have been a tough challenge for the Cards to say the least, but I have a good feeling the Cards get this one. This team is playing really good basketball right now. They will be locked in tomorrow night.
UVA beat 'em up pretty bad at the Yum.

Please. I ask you, Louisville Cardinals basketball team, please win this game tomorrow. It's about time we actually win against them. So please, I just ask for you guys to win this game tomorrow night against UVA. Please win. Idc how you do it, just do it.

But Im expecting a loss. I wont be surprised one bit if we lose, but I just really hope that we win.

This is our chance. All eyes on Louisville if we win. All eyes on this game tomorrow. The only top 25 matchup on at the time and it is nationally televised. We need this game to make a statement and get a great road win.

But that is why Im expecting a loss and doubting a win. It's going to be so hard to go in there and win this game tomorrow. But I just hope that we go in there focused, mentally and physically, and win this game. Doubt it though. UVA is hard for us to beat. Really anxious to see Rick's adjustment gameplan. Im sure it is going to be based around what has been said above in this thread.

Really nervous about this one.

My observations we never seem to use our inside game against force it in and make them play against our bigs. And oanther thing we pass it around too much drive and shoot

The biggest problem this time around we don't have Q , this game is going to show how much we really miss him on the court. Only way i truly see us winning is Deng and Vj must ball out plain and simple.

Get away from the high ball screen...Virginia has that figured out...Spread them out and let Donavon and VJ drive for layups/dunks, or drop-offs to the Bigs, or pass-outs to the wings for 3's!!!

this is spot on...isolate with our most athletic guys and let them break down the D with drive/dish...unfortunately we don't do this much, so we will likely be mediocre...also straight man defense is required on the other end (also we don't do that much so will likely be mediocre). I look for CRP to stick with switching man D/zone and our typical motion O and the game looks a whole lot like the first meeting.

Welp, Deng and Mangok are both out for breaking curfew. So that's awesome.

I still expect to win. Next men up.
Seriously? Good grief. Now we're down 4 players. I might as well cancel the recording on the DVR. I wasn't going to be able to watch it live, so I was forced to record it. No need now. Damn.

I'm actually stoked to see Matz play. At the rate Anas has been fouling at, he just might log heavy minutes without looking over his shoulder after every miscue!

Henderson and Ryan now have to play more too.

Virginia's defense forces more one-on-one play from wings and solid passing from the post since they hard double. Adel is shaky handling the ball, so VJ might be better suited tonight. Mangok has little passing ability so it's not his kind of game either. I think UVA probably wins because it's at their place and past history, but these suspensions may not be as detrimental as they would be in other games.
