ACC opener for both.Top 2 defensive teams in the country square off tomorrow night at YUM.

Virginia has lost Brogdon,Gill and Tobey.

Hard to replace All Everything Brogdon, but they return several pieces that backed up Brogdon and Gill.

Returning starting point guard Perrantes is one of the best in the league.Throw in Hall,Thompson,Shayok and Freshman Mickey D'er Kyle Guy and the Cavs are loaded in the backcourt again.looks to be the strength of the team.

This game is probably going to be very ugly and NOT fun to watch. It's going to feel like a extended trip to the dentist chair and a prostate exam all rolled up in one.

Our half court offensive execution will have to continue its upward tick.

We opened as a 2 point favorite.Tells me all I need to know.Muchas respect for the Hoos from Vegas. They went into Cal and ended their 26 game streak at home.

Two things to be very concerned about.

1. Can't afford any type of UofK hangover. That game is history. It needs to be 100% forgot by all.
2. UVA holds teams to 37% from INSIDE the arc. Scoring inside is going to be a serious challenge.

In the building of a championship caliber team, they will have to overcome what's likely to be a problem.I think it will be obvious early, but it doesn't have to be.Much like what uk went thru coming off the NC win, adapt and persevere.

Tbs,gotta see that coming and get juiced for this one BEFORE it happens. The attitude is, "let's build on the Ky game"

It's what separates you from the rest.

I detest playing UVA. The worst part of playing them is even when you get into a scoring rhythm, you're not in a scoring rhythm because the ball goes through the net, it hits the floor, then it is left to bounce itself out until it maybe rolls over into a cheerleader's feet sitting on the floor inert. Then a UofL player picks it up, passes it to the baseline official who hands it to the Virginia inbounder where the five count begins...approximately one minute and 45 seconds after the ball went through the nets to begin with.

You always want to score. But against Virginia you almost don't want to score for fear of being Jedi mind tricked into paralysis.

VA generally makes you really earn a victory. But I think playing VA now is a good test for this team. Big contrast in styles from the last game.

I placed a 100 bet in vegas on Va two days ago on this game.. my gut said after we beat Uk we would play just as we are to nite. I would love to lose that 100. for this win but i don't see it happening. Typical Cardiac Cards play.

I hate to say this but with this lackluster performance and Virginia being a quality team and with 14:10 left this game is already over.

Our guys play scared against this team for some reason.Lol,maybe Pitino needs to quit talkin about them so much.

0 assists and about 50 turnovers I think.

14 turns at the moment.

Let's see we didn't rebound ( we didn't even try to rebound ) we didn't shoot good from outside, we didn't hit our free throws, we were out hustled for EVERY loose ball and we didn't start playing until the last 10 minutes. Somebody help me if I forgot something.

I don't know if you forgot anything, but the stuff you remembered was enough for me. Good god that was ugly, wasn't it?

Pitino uses these games for coaching purposes.

We didn't pass effectively. We also gave up too many easy baskets.

We passed up open shots for contested shots.

We are a bad offensive team. Can't allow teams to score as easily as UVA did at times.

Not really. The only teams that play well against UVA are their early round opponents in the NCAA Tourney when the Cavaliers do the "Tony Bennett/John Thompson 3 Flame-out".

Over the last three NCAA tournaments, UVa is a combined 5-1 in the first two rounds (actually second and third round games). So I have very little idea of what you're talking about, and I suspect you have NO idea of what you're talking about.

I do know that for eighty percent of tonight's game, the Cavs made the Cards look like Hampton. That would be Virginia's 2016's hapless second-round opponent.

Yeah man.

And in the world of college basketball you're judged by how you do in NCAA rounds 3 - 6.

How is UVA doing in those big guy?

Give me that UVA record in the round of 8, and the FF, and go ahead and show me the topping on the cake and tell me how they are doing on Monday nights for all the marbles.

I have no defense for how we played tonight but I think Louisvillian is right. Virginia does great during the regular season but they have flamed out in the tournament. As an ACC team I hope they do good every year in the tournament but they haven't done it yet, maybe this will be their year.

Deadbeat dad Ralph Sampson is not walking through that door.

That said props to UVA for giving Ballard alum Jeff Lamp some burn. Dude had a solid career.

Know your role yo.
