FB RECRUITING: USC QB Miller Moss Commits To Cards

1000% wrong on a QB committing until bowl game. We play on 12/31. Portal closes on 12/28 and classes start 1/8. If that happens, we are in deep shit, unless Pierce, Deuce, or Mims is the answer. Staff doesnt seem to think thats the case!
You're right about this. We definitely will know before December 31. I didn't realize the portal closed before the bowl game and I temporarily forgot we were playing on New Years Eve. We usually play our bowl games earlier. Good call.

I'm not asking you or anyone else to trust anything I say. I'm just giving an opinion that may be wrong or right. Why this need to act like I believe I know more than Brohm? Of course I don't. If Brohm came out and said he loves Moss and wants him more than anybody, I would say okay, let's go do it.

I don't pretend to know more than anyone. I'm just a football fan who watches a lot of games and seen many of these dudes play. I just convey my thoughts here on the message board to create conversation, but some here for some strange reason act like I think my opinions shouldn't be countered and that is simply not the case.

I like the dude Mendoza at California and it's not because I live there or even seen all his games. I have been more impressed with him than any other name mentioned but he may not be interested in Louisville? I don't know. I just don't get why you feel the need to tell a fellow Cards fan he's wrong about his opinion on any players considering transferring to Louisville. You can be just a wrong!
The first two paragraphs of your post apply to everyone on here. As for me, in Brohm I trust.

There is kid from San Jose St that is legit. He would be a bargain. Granted he probably had the best WR in the country, Nash, but he has a live arm.

Yes, but Brohm wants his dude for spring practice. That's a no brainer!
Look the important thing is getting who he thinks is the right guy. The last two QB transfers were 5th year guys. You think two weeks of spring football practice is going to make a big difference how these guys will perform. You have to assume that Jeff has done his homework and sees guys who only need a tweak or two. Thats a no brainer.

Yeah I guess that's why all 32 NFL QBs skip mini-camp. Reps are reps and getting comfortable with the other guys is massive.

Aaron Rodger’s skipped minicamp AND “mandatory” workouts. Look how great he’s playing now.

Don't like the idea he's Brohm's top QB target. That tells me the dude at Cal, Fernando Mendoza, isn't considering Louisville.

I have been watching tape of Moss and I just don't see what the big deal is about him. Of course he was Tom Brady against Louisville last season, but I haven't seen much of that this season.
I don't think it means Moss is his guy and he's given up on Mendoza, there's nothing wrong with having a backup plan in case you don't get one or the other.

The reality is Missouri will pay more and probably significantly more, rumored to be 1M more. Nothing you can do who would tell their son to pass on 1M in a violent sport? Not me go get your money. Bottom line if he can’t be effective at Missouri he isn’t going to be effective in NFL.

Go bargain shopping, go get a legit #1 receiver find you a couple legit corners and edge players.

One more time; Brohm does not need to sign a $$$ player; just one who is coachable and has a good arm. There are a lot of D1 QBs than can make Brohm and UL proud.

Good reporting Mr. Shadow! I have to say that I was feeling somewhat down concerning our QB position next year. Much negative feelings on here for next at the position if he (someone comparable) didn't sign soon. I figure a 'few more' of this type player and it will be a Merry
Christmas!

He was Coach Brohm's main QB target and we got him and beat out bigger dollar offer from Missouri. Our portal pickups will improve with this and I am psyched.
This may be the last year of a OAD portal QB from what I have heard.

No expert but his TD/Int ratio is just ok.

Nothing special.
There must be something about Moss for Brohm to seek him the most. It may NIL or an early commitment he was looking for? He didn't want to wait out other QB's and then get stuck with someone he really didn't pursue that hard?

Moss is only 6'2 and other than his Tom Brady performance against Louisville, I haven't seen any other performance that really matches that. I think maybe Brohm feels there isn't many options this year with QB's in the portal. Moss may be very coachable?

But he's the man so I will get behind him and hope that Tom Brady comes out of him next season, but this time in a Cardinals uniform.

Moss was 27 of 36 for 378 yards (10.5 yds per attempt) and a TD in the first game of this season against LSU and a 27-20 victory.

The one thing I saw with him, especially against us is that he will stand in the pocket under fire and throws with anticipation before his receivers are come out of their breaks.. I imagine that’s attractive to Jeff but he also will throw to guys that are well covered and it got him into trouble sometimes. He definitely plays with confidence.

Imagine if we had said Lamar is only 6-2?? I know we had a different coach but you're implying that Brohm would never have considered him solely because of his size.

Only because most people here say Brohm prefers tall QB's. I don't know for sure. I think he needs a dual threat QB to fully enhance the offense, but many here say Brohm prefers pocket passers.

The truth is he prefers outstanding QB's.

I think he prefers smart QB’s that mentally can grasp his playbook. That also comes with the QB’s camp wanting to play for Brohm. If the rumors are true that he turned down a higher offer to play the speaks for itself. Couple things that means he knows what he is looking for in a coach, good leadership instincts and he also understands the financial side of NIL. Louisville should be able to find him some good pieces.

It is surprising Jeff isn’t a huge fan of mobile QB’s or he hasn’t found the right one.

With the RBs he's putting in the NFL, we don't need a mobile QB. IMO, Shough was better than expected...I think this may be a bit of a downgrade. Speaks more of the shoes this kid needs to fill than anything else. Hoping we get more consistent TE production; but the deficiency in this team is on D. I feel our O will be clicking pretty nicely...again.

He's not the Calimari of college football. Maybe a pro style QB fits his offense better than a dual threat? His focus is on his team not the NFL and he has or will get the last two QB's at least an opportunity at a football career.

Don’t really mean duel threat more on the mobile side because that who he was as a QB. Now he also completely understands the challenges in being smaller QB. I think he values height over mobility. When your OLine is 6-6 and 6-7 height does matter. There aren’t many Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson.
