UofL vs UK match-up once again proves its worth

Strangely enough the only 2 games that rated above UofL vs UK two years ago was Duke-UNC and UNC-Duke

That's the biggest goldfish in the goldfish bowl. None of those games bring in major money or a lotta eyeballs. That's why the LPT game ain't worth much on the schedule anymore.

I think we still bring in between $1-2 mil per home basketball game. That's ATTENDANCE BASED revenue.

But since just about any two teams bouncing a basketball make that cut with ESPN--that's what the evidence shows--someone's got a lotta ground to cover touting that opportunity as the result of U of L-LPT being a marquee matchup.

I wonder if the four-letter network will ever wanna stage Duke-UNC basketball during Xmas bowl week?

The reason it isn't a marquee game is because the series is so one sided. Funny how most Card fans want to drop the series. It was the Cards fans that clamored for this game to be played on a regular basis. Now that they have lost for several seasons they want quit playing UK. Now if UK was to want to quit the Governor's Cup it would be called running? Why, because we haven't been competitive in FB. IF UofL was to end the BB series they would be running because they couldn't win.

If you've been following the issue, you'd know I wanna drop LPT in ALL athletic competitions, not just basketball. So it obviously has nothing to do with wins and losses. Actually it does a little since outside of basketball, we have nothing to gain by a win over LPT which is normally expected. This is a basketball forum which is why it's couched in basketball here.
