There was a point in the 2nd half when it appeared the defense was totally gassed and might not be able to get off the field. Statistics (Syracuse had over 500 yards) would suggest the defensive performance gave Syracuse an opportunity to get back in the game ....... but it was the defense that stopped the Orange twice in the red zone (4 downs) that tells me there is some serious fire on that side of the football.
Admittedly there was some bending, but they deserve some credit for not breaking.
