UK ranked #6 and we get 1 vote

Well, if the voters watched our games, that's the reason for no votes. I hate to say it, but Louisville has not shown they should receive any votes for the top 25. They still haven't figured out their identity except for 4th quarter collapses which will definitely cost them votes.

Time is running out but the Cards have some tough games remaining. Win some of those and maybe they figure out what works just in time for post season play.

I expressed my concerns about this UL WBB Team after witnessing their performance in the preseason, so I have tried to be as objective as possible in predicting their future outcome Thais season. Clearly this roster is filled with very talented young players, but the overall inexperience explains why this team is not where we are accustomed to seeing CJW coached teams of the past.

However, Realville raises a valid point when it comes to questioning our ranking, as our SOS has been brutal, evidenced by 4 of our 7 losses come against currently top ten ranked teams. UL right now is tied for 4th in the ACC, yet we are the only one that is not included along with the other 7 ACC schools who are ranked in the top 25.

If, admittedly a pretty big if, UL beats FSU in Tallahassee on Thursday, it will indicate that UL has improved significantly since its humiliating loss at home to a very good NCST team.

Apologies to both Birdie King and Realville; as it was BK, not RV who I believe raised a valid point about ranking of this UL WBB team.

You may disagree with me but I believe my point is valid. I took BK's post to mean look how uninspiring the Cards are that Ivy league teams are receiving more votes for the top 25.

I didn't think he was saying Louisville is being dissed like the men's team has been. I may be wrong but I believe he was saying the Cards are running out of time to change the perception of them as a non ranked team.

Maybe Louisville should get the benefit of the doubt, being a elite program for over a decade, but I haven't seen them as a top 25 team yet this season, and unfortunately I don't think we will this season.

Hope I'm wrong, starting with the FSU game.

I do not think that you are wrong at all RealVille; in fact you are probably closer to the truth than where I am. I just look at our 4 losses to teams in the top 10, and believe the rankings are entirely too focused on the number of overall losses, with little consideration to who those losses were to.

This UL WBB team is nowhere close to the top 10, and probably not even worthy of top 20 consideration at this time ......however, given our being tied for 4th right now in the ACC, I believe we a top 25 team.

I see value with the schedule strength but the Cards have been a bit disappointing all season. They haven't been able to sustain consistent good play and every time they were poised to get ranked, they lose badly.

And now they're in this 4th quarter swoon and they look terrible, not worthy of much benefit of the doubt. They turn the ball over, miss layups and look so unsure of themselves, the opponents take notice.

As do the voters in the AP.

I have to admit I don't follow much of the women's game in regards to other teams. I'm used to seeing the Cards in the rankings but I've watched most every Cards game and they just don't look like a top 25 team. Now maybe neither does the teams ranked 23 through 25, I just don't know.

I agree with all of this and see how some have posted their disappointment with Cochran in certain games. I can tell you straight up if it wasn’t for Cochran, Russell, Harris and Curry this team would be awful. It makes me worry about next year because all I see is guards no front court players for next year. CJW needs to go into the portal and see if he can find a couple of Emily Englester’s. There are some really good players in the mid-majors who would love the opportunity to move up.
