Tyrone Burrus Flips To IU

Not surprised been rumblings it was going to happen. High school recruiting is awful but can’t wait to see the data on how many classes stay together for 4 years. The attrition rate has been high even before transfer rule change 50-60 percent. I bet it changes to 20-30 percent in the future.

Players will get poached and players will shift to lower levels to get playing time.

The percentage of freshman that see the field in year 1 is probably less than 5-10 of the class.

HS players don’t have near the leverage they used to.

As far as IU, they have to prove they aren’t a one hit wonder. And as we have learned, that is going to be a steep hill to continue this year’s kind of success.

I don’t see them as a 1 hit wonder being the fact they haven’t beaten anyone. Give them credit for going undefeated so far but if they get trucked, like expected, by OSU then no way they should be even near the playoffs imo.

Cignetti has been a winner ever;ywhere he has coached. Its not a far stretch to think that he can't do the same thing at IU given some resources. That's what you do, get fans believing again and the recruiting follows.

It really has been a perfect scenario for IU. Hire a winning coach who changed their entire mindset and culture. Couple that with a SOS in the low hundreds (some of which is bc they bought us out), and here you go. Its honestly very similar to what Brohm did last year minus a few speedbumps. I am VERY interested in seeing the OSU vs IU game next weekend! If they are at least competitive in that game, then I will give them a lot more credit. Lose by 3 TD's or more........nah! FTR, I have been critical of IU since their 6-0 start!!

Especially when the coach gets a better job which could be next season. IU will be back to their normal position in the Big 10. But if he sticks around, they will have a chance to build something. Who really believes he won't be somewhere like FSU or Florida in the next few years?

Why not?

WE were a “one hit wonder” last year with a favorable schedule and thought pretty highly of ourselves.

We “could” have repeated it with a tough schedule without some poor refs and some piss poor coaching in a few spots.

But we didn’t. So we’ll have to be happy with a “good” bowl. Maybe. IF we win out.

If we don’t, we’re even more of a one hit wonder until we prove differently.

These big conferences are going create unbalanced schedules. The only question is will your team be good enough to take advantage.

IU got lucky that Washington, Michigan State and Michigan were all down this year and they bought out of our game, which i firmly believe we would've won on our field this year. That's 4 losses for them in normal years.. Plus they didn't have to play Penn State, Oregon, or even Wisconsin or Iowa..

I give them credit though. They're 10-0 and can only beat the teams on the schedule. Kudos to them for taking advantage of their opportunities..
