Trinity Threat...

It was a public, not anonymous tweet earlier in the day that said something to the effect “if Brohm doesn’t come, let’s burn Trinity”

Stupid, yes, but not the dark, scary threat from a crazy person that media made it out to be. Just a dumb, poorly worded, emotional tweet. It was an overreaction to close the school and give it media coverage.

Hey, Trinity students. Got a test you need more time to study for? Set up a burner Twitter account, make a threat, no school. Trinity just gave them the blueprint.

So apparently this guy made a sarcastic tweet 5 hours BEFORE Brohm announced his decision. But you have to be smart, this was not smart especially in todays world where whackjobs shoot up schools and malls.

They found the guy. I realize in today’s world you can’t tweet or post stuff like that, but “Felony” Terroristic Threatening? Ridiculous.

How many people on here saw the tweet and laughed? I know I did. To me it looked like It was meant as an exaggerated joke. A stupid one in hindsight and I understand that law enforcement has to take this crap seriously till it’s sure it’s a false alarm but c’mon.

Maybe there’s more to this but a stern warning seems appropriate, not jail time.

Good Lord. Lighten up Francises.

There were all kinds of "If Brohm doesn't come here (or stay)..." tweets yesterday. To say Trinity overreacted is an understatement.

Words do matter.

I thought this was a joke when I read it, but in today's world you have to be smarter than this. People are really sensitive to any sort of potential wording which could possibly be perceived as a threat especially towards a school.

Now this guy will have this issue to deal with the rest of his life. I'm sure he wishes he could take it back.

I’m sorry but it is absolutely horrific to charge him with a felony. This man may have done something incredibly stupid but he doesn’t deserve to have his life ruined. Maybe a swift kick in the proverbial balls to get his attention but come on.
