Traynor commits to Louisville

I am glad he committed to us no only because he is a good athlete but because his Dad and Coach are former Louisville players. It would have been really disappointing to lose him. This is turning out to be a really good class.
I don't remember his dad? What year?

He played 2 seasons 1993 & 1994 he was really smooth a good player just wasn’t here long enough.

Jason was probably one of those guys who could have been considered an one and done player, but not in the sense we usually think about. He was a McD All American and had all the talent. Only problem was he didn’t like going to class and eventually dropped out. I’m not saying he could have played in the NBA but he might have been able to play overseas professionally.

Not trying to jump on him or his personal business but he had a personal issue with alcohol. It really wasn't a secret . We all have demons we battle and that was his to this day. He had alot of skills .

His Dad is Jason Osborne Who was a McD All American and played in the line up:

F Dwayne Morton 6-6
F Jason Osborne 6-8
C Clifford Rozier 6-10
G Greg Minor 6-6
G DeJuan Wheat 6-0

Great Louisville team

Yeah, I remember him. Good skill set, didn't think he played all that hard. Didn't know about grades/personal stuff, thought he just left to go pro.

Oh man, probably the best team Denny had after 86. They lost their bench when Stone,Hop and Wingfield transferred before that season.
That starting 5 was really good.

This was the word on the street back then. Probably got to hanging with the wrong crowd.
He was a very talented ball player.
I could tell you some stories . This is a small city and that last part has some serious truth to it.

The 93-94 was Coach Crums best team in his latter 15 years.

Needed a true power forward.

Rozier was 1st team All American in 94.

He played in mainly Argentina with a couple years in Italy. Averaged around 14 and 6 during his career. He retired in 2010.

JO was one of the most talented players ever out of Jeff co. He averaged 30+ points the last 10 games to the state semi-finals his senior year. I’ll never forget his dunk over Scott Padgett in the regional at Manual when he wrapped his legs around Scott while hanging on the rim. Ironic where both players careers ended up considering how much more talented JO was in HS.

Male all-time scorers
  1. Jason Osbourne 2,873
  2. K. Phelps 2189
  3. D. Griffith 2187
  4. W. Bennett 2161
  • 8. M. Bush 1817
  • 9. L. O’Bannon 1814

Osborne had amazing skills. Great handle, really nice vision, could fill it up. A shame his career never took off here or after.

Back in Denny's day, it was tough to stay home and play for the home team. Outside influences where strong in the city, friends and handlers whispering in your ear that your not getting the ball enough. Denny losing Wade Houston was terrible for our program in many ways. This team should have walked into the Final Four.
